PARENTAL PERMISSION/ AGREEMENT

I understand that computer, network, and Internet use at Smith County Schools is a privilege and not a right and that use of
this privilege may be revoked at any time for any reason. Any items produced by students will not be posted to the Internet
without their written permission. Posted items will be considered fair use and available to the public.

As the parent or legal guardian of a student, I have read and agree to the terms of the acceptable use policy and guidelines to
Internet and networks for Smith County Schools. I understand that this access is designed for educational purposes only. I
recognize that it is impossible for the Smith County School Systems to completely restrict and prevent access to
controversial materials, and I will not hold the school system responsible for materials acquired on the network. I have
discussed this agreement with my child and have explained that any violation of these rules is unethical and maybe subject
to a Category II Offense of misuse of school property, I accept full responsibility for my student’s action on the network in
school. I hereby give permission for my child to use the Internet and networks for educational purposes. Parents or
guardians wishes to rescind this agreement, must do so in writing to the school.
