The exhibition concept derives from one of the fashion industry's most heated debates.
The exhibition marks a turning point in the tumultuous debate over the complex
relationship between fashion and art, by moving away from the widely accepted belief
that fashion and art exist as two separate constructs and showcasing the two concepts
as a hybrid notion.

Concept
The exhibition features 10 of the most influential fashion
creatives along with their equally inspiring artists.

The exhibition will be held at the Victoria


and Albert Museum in the temporary
exhibition space located on Ground Level
of the building in Room 40.

Fashion is always popular at the V&A,


which has a
permanent fashion collection that covers
fashionable dress from the 17th century
to the present day. The museum has
also been the host to a great number of
temporary fashion exhibitions and events.
Therefore this along with the central
London laction makes the Victoria and
Albert Museum a well suited location.

- Location
Visitors will be invited to view the pieces through a custom made
structure, designed and fitted by Magma Architecture; an award
winning German Architectural Firm. The systhetic fibre structure will
adorn ceiling to wall of the exhibition space, urging visitors to move
through the hidden curves and individual rooms whilst glancing through
carefully positioned peeping holes, which reveal the hidden creations
behind them.

Samsung will also be producing a replica of the Private Viewing Pods


they created for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The individual room features a custom-
made PVC banner with a print of the crytal-
adorned globe that featured in the Viktor and
Rolf Spring/Summer 2010 runway collection.
Along side this a video of the extravagent
show will play on repeat on five white
Samsung LCD TV's.
There will be three chairs in the room to
enable visitors to view the inspirational show
in comfort.

ceiling inside the centre of a 4m circular
banner showing images of Takano's art work
which inspired the collection.

Visitors will be able to take turns to view the Tim Roelof
inspired Versace Autumn/Winter '08 Womenswear collection
on the runway via a video screen fitted in this custom-made
Samsung Private Viewing Pod.
Exhibition Entrance
The visitor will be directed to the
exhibition space via a sign in the
reception area. They will be met by a
trained member of staff ready to sell
entrance tickets to the visitors.

At the entrance will be a large copy of


the exhibition poster and a wall fixed

An additional strip sign will be hung on the outside of the builing at
the Cromwell Street entrance advertising the exhibition throughout its
showing.

There will also be a 2m x 3m Satin Gloss Print version of the poster


hung in the reception area of the museum from the 1st July.

Advertisements will also feature on taxi's and bus services in the


central London area as this has a very high level of exposure.
