Product Installation Instructions:
• All steps in this guide must be followed for the correct installation and maintenance of Lunaplast
2100F Self-Adhesive Film
• It is very important for the user to determine the suitability of the Lunaplast Product, primer
and application process, and compliance with local Air Quality Regulations.
o Because Luna Technologies Int. Inc. cannot anticipate all of the different possible surfaces
and contaminants that may exist, it is imperative to conduct an evaluation to determine the
suitability of Lunaplast 2100F, Product Installation Instructions, and any other processes
that may have an influence on the product. Likewise, where there are any changes in the
surface it is adhered to, or suppliers of the materials, it is advisable to run evaluations to
ensure that the change has not influenced the compatibility of the surface with Lunaplast
2100F.
o Be especially cautious that all surfaces are sealed and any surface where there is a
possibility of migration by additives or chemicals is primed.
• Do not apply Lunaplast 2100F over surfaces with any irregularities including, but not limited to,
cracks, breaks, chips or grout.
• For additional product information, please call toll free 1-888-955-8883.

Surface Preparation Instructions:

• Inspect the surface for any damaged sections and repair accordingly, including, but not limited to:
o Chipped or broken sections
o Cracking or peeling
o Easily removed sections
• Ensure the surface is fully cleaned in preparation for installation, including, but not limited to:
removal of dirt, oil, soap film, residue, wax, polish, grease, etc.
o Most dirt can be removed by a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water. This
solution contains greater than 250 g/l of volatile organic compounds (VOC). Please consult
your local Air Quality Regulations to be sure the cleaner is compliant. When using
solvents, please be sure to follow the manufacturer’s precautions and directions for use
when handling such materials. Any heavy oils or other concentrated contaminants should
be removed using a degreaser or solvent-based cleaner and should be followed by the
IPA/water mixture to remove any remaining residue.
• Product can be adhered on most painted surfaces that are in good condition. However, it is
recommended that these surfaces also be primed to improve adhesion and create a layer that may
impede the migration of additives that may be present in the paint. (Refer to Priming Instructions.)
• Abrading the surface can help adhesion to paints, metals and plastics.
• Very small scratches in the surface, generated in a circular motion, increases surface area,
leading to higher ultimate strength and greater initial adhesion.
• Avoid grinding the surface with a coarse abrasive and make sure to clean the surface with
the IPA/water solution before and after abrading in order to remove all loose particles prior
to bonding.
• Glass, stone, ceramic or other siliceous materials are hydrophilic and therefore the adhesive bond
durability is susceptible to high humidity or exposure to water.
o When performing adhesive installation, Silane coupling agents should be added to the
IPA/water cleaning solution to help reduce the hydrophilic tendency of these surfaces and
enhance bonding durability.
o Spray surface with solution and wipe vigorously until it is completely dry and there is no
product of residue or film. Let sit for five minutes to allow any remaining particles to
evaporate completely before applying product.
o Follow all manufacturer’s directions for safe handling and storage of the solution.
• Copper, brass, and bronze are prone to oxidation even after Lunaplast Product is applied. When
performing adhesive installation, a lacquer or varnish should be applied to these surfaces to prevent
a weakening of the bond.
o Be sure to perform a test of the adhesive bond to the sealer on a metal surface beforehand to
verify good adhesion.
• A minimum temperature of 55°F (12.8°C) is required for adhesion to properly take place

Priming Instructions:
Note – Refer to the Priming Table to determine which primer is recommended for the specific application.
• Take special care to ensure proper preparation for the following surfaces:
o Uncoated concrete surfaces
o Coated, painted or porous concrete with a rough finish
o Other porous surfaces
• Follow all of the manufacturer’s directions for proper application.
• Make sure that the primed surface remains free from contaminants and is thoroughly dry before
applying Lunaplast 2100F.

Application Instructions:
• Tools required
o Rubber hand roller (1.5” width)
• Align the product in its intended position to verify sureness of fit.
• Lay it face down on a stable surface below and peel the protective liner back approximately 2” from
one end. Take care to minimize any contact between the adhesive and fingers.
• Position the exposed adhesive against the intended application surface and press into place.
• Remove the rest of the liner and press the product firmly in place.
• Secure the product using a rubber hand roller, starting in the middle of the product and rolling out
towards the edges.
o Bond strength is dependent upon the amount of adhesive-to-surface contact developed.
Firm application pressure develops better adhesive contact and helps improve bond
strength.
• Repeat this process for each piece of product to be installed.
• For surfaces that are exposed to excessive moisture or liquids, such as that from repeated cleaning,
use the designated edge sealing compound (3M™ Safety-Walk Edge Sealing Compound 902 3M
ID: 70-0705-4946-7) during installation (refer to manufacturer’s product use instructions).
Lunaplast 2100F is not recommended for continuous immersion in any liquid.

Maintenance Instructions:
• Store product in its original container between 50°F (10°C) and 120°F (49°C) at a humidity range of
40% to 60%.
• It is recommended to use the product within 6 months from the date it is received.
• To maintain product effectiveness, the application should be inspected on a bi-monthly basis (or as
required by mandated code).
• Use an appropriate mild cleaner (refer to Maintenance Guide) as a general maintenance liquid to keep
the product and surrounding surfaces dirt and grease free. Wipe the area with a non-abrasive
material such as a lint free cloth or paper towel.
• To remove and replace worn or torn material:
o Tools required:
ƒ Heat gun
ƒ Scraper
o Run the heat gun along the length of the product in order to ease the adhesive.
o Position the scraper at one end of the product and begin to wedge the section up.
o Peel back the product with continued application of the heat gun.
o Use an appropriate industrial cleaner to soften any remaining adhesive residue and remove
with continued scraping.
o Follow the Surface Preparation Instructions to begin the installation of replacement
product.
