Course Objectives

Objectives
 Have an understanding of logical circuits.
 Learn the fundamentals of computer organization.
 Have an understanding of machine language and the way the instructions are executed
by the processor.
 Be able to program in a selected assembly language.

Grading policy

 Midterms: 30%
 Seminar Project (study and discussion of certain topics on the Computer
Organization): 10%
 Quizes and Labs: 20%
 Final: 40%

Policies

Course Policies:
 If you are absent from a class, you should present your excuse (signed by the
committee of excuses) no later than two weeks from your absence. Late excuses will
not be accepted.
 For midterms:
o If you have an approved circumstance to be absent from the midterm exam,
you will be allowed to enter a comprehensive makeup exam.
o You should present your excuse (signed by the committee of excuses) no later
than a week from your absence. Late excuses will not be accepted. If you fail to
meet the deadline, you will get a zero on the exam.
o There is no make-up for the make-up.
o If you miss both the 1st Mid and the 2nd Mid, You have the chance to do just
one makeup exam.

Plagiarism Policies:
Each student is expected to do his own work on all of the course material and each team is
expected to do their own work (not collaborate with others outside the team), otherwise each
person involved will be subject to the University Dishonesty Policy.
