 Rig Scantlings:
1. The mast, together with standing rigging, shall be weighted. (MWT shall be between 177kg
and 184kg) (Class Rule 15.3)
2. VCG above BAS band shall be between 6360mm and 6440mm. (Class Rule 15.3)
3. All above measurements shall be taken with the components dry and the spars fitted only with
components with which the yacht will actually race as specified below:
a) The mast shall be completely rigged with standing rigging, running backstays, spreaders,
wiring (aprox. 2kg. Any excess will be discounted from the TOTAL), luff groove device and all
other permanently attached fittings, including those turnbuckles (without pins) which are not
permitted to be adjusted while racing or the toggle. Halyard messengers of not more than
4mm diameter and aprox. 15gr/m instead halyards are also allowed.
b) Excluded for measurement shall be running rigging, check stays, rigging adjusters of any
type (hydraulic or otherwise) and any associated blocks and tackle, boom vang, reefing tackle.
Electronic displays and their support. Internal mast jack ram is NOT allowed.
c) Toggles can be attached at their normal position.
d) Partner collars: ONLY if permanently attached to the mast can be on the mast when weighted.

4. Boom Weight shall be between 43kg and 46kg. The boom shall be with all its fittings but
without its gooseneck toggle, blocks, tackle and vang. No reefing lines shall be inside.
5. Vang weight shall be between 5kg and 7kg.

 Keel Weight: Yachts shall be presented with the keel (find and bulb) separately from the hull before
to do the weighed displacement. The keel weight, with the bulb and the fin assembled, faired
and painted, with bolts and nuts, shall be between 2170kg and 2180kg. Excluded for weighing
shall be the lifting point and the nut plates.

 Weighed Displacement:
Yachts shall be presented for weighing in measurement condition. All tanks, pipes,
pumps, manifolds, etc… shall be empty.
Minimum Displacement: 4290kg.
- Measurement Condition –
The forestay shall be adjusted to its most afterward position.
The following equipment SHALL BE ON BOARD:
One set of running rigging: jib and spinnaker sheets, two handles and associated blocks, one
bilge pump (OSR), floor boards.
For the following equipment we have to discount:
a) Electronic instrumental: 20kg
b) Sheet bags, handle bags, …: 5kg
c) Gas Oil: t.b.d.
d) Batteries: (Real weight-54)kg
e) Other equipment: to the discretion of the measurer.
The following equipment SHALL NOT BE ON BOARD:
a) Fuel, water and the contents of any other tanks, except hydraulic tanks. Hydraulic systems
including hydraulic tanks shall be full for measurement and shall remain full when racing.
b) Gas bottles and food, cooking and catering utensils.
c) Mooring lines and fenders.
d) Clothing, bedding and personal effects.
e) All removable safety equipment.
f) Tools and spare parts.
g) Loose gear. Note: this includes the mast jack and jack bar, the forward pump and hoses.
h) Sails and Crew.

 Other Measurements: Hull Measurement, PROP, RIG, and Sails.

This Measurement Document is just informative. For proper understanding of the


measurement procedure see S40-OD Rule, or ask your measurer.
