1.0 OBJECTIVES

The study covers the data communications model and the need for computer
networks. Emphasis of the course is on the fundamentals of LANs, WANs,
Communications Architecture and protocols

2.0 SYNOPSIS

The major area of studies include: Introduction protocols and their architectures,
Communication mediums and techniques, Local Area Network technologies and
hardware, Addressing, Network Analysis, Wide Area Network technologies and
hardware, Routing and related protocols, Internetworking concepts and
architecture, and TCP/IP design and protocols.
