Specialized Training for your Athlete

Each workout begins with an active warm-up routine, which includes various drills and
exercises that help develop course strength, balance, and stability. After warm-ups, athletes
work with event-specific coaches in the development of speed, skill, fitness, and competition
strategies.

A Range of Competitive Opportunities

It doesn’t matter if your athlete has never competed in track and field before, or if they have
competed at the national level: we have competitive opportunities for all levels of experience
and talent. At the end of the camp, we will host an all-comers meet, which is even open to
members of the community to participate. All participants receive ribbons with their times
and/or marks. If you’re interested at competing at the national level, this year we are
returning to the USATF Junior Olympic Championship series, held at Plainfield Central High
School. Additionally, we will be taking athletes with qualifying marks to the New Balance
National Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Workouts Designed to Provide an Enjoyable Experience in all Events

Our coaches will help your athletes learn and develop skills, speed, and agility this
summer. We’ll be setting personal goals and working hard and training smart to
achieve them throughout this camp. Athletes can train for sprint events, relays, mid-
distance events, and field events.

Competition
Neuqua Valley Track Camp – Meet Under the Lights @NVHS
On Thursday, July 14, the Neuqua Valley Track Camp will host it’s annual meet under the lights at the Neuqua Valley stadium.
This event is open to all community members, but campers do not pay to compete. This is an exciting way to finish the season
strong!

USATF – Junior Olympic Championship Series @Plainfield Central High School

Over the weekend of June 24-26, NTC athletes may elect to compete in the USATF Illinois Association Championship at
Plainfield Central High School in Plainfield, Illinois. The top 8 athletes who qualify at this meet are eligible to compete the
weekend of July 8-10 at the same location. The top 8 athletes from this meet are eligible to participate in the USATF Junior
Olympic National Championships on July 26-31 in Wichita, Kansas. Coaches will not travel to attend this meet, but you are
welcome to take your athlete on to the national competition!

These meets are spread out over several days, and the age of your athlete, as well as his or her events, determines which day
he or she will compete. We will have a tent set up with refreshments, shade, equipment, and coaches as long as we have
athletes participating in events.

*Athletes who wish to compete in the USATF series will pay an extra $50 for meet registration and USATF membership.
This is a $30 fee if you have a current and valid membership number. Otherwise, we will register your athlete for you.
Please include your athlete’s membership number when registering.
New Balance Nationals

This year, we hope to take athletes who achieve qualifying marks during the regular high school track season to the New
Balance Nationals Championship Event. Being that the location of NBN’s requires advanced travel planning, we will do our
best to arrange efficient and supervised transportation. Depending on the number of athletes, this might mean airline travel
or driving down to the meet. While we cannot determine eligibility this far in advance, please consider indicating your
interest in this camp when registering. Also, please specify which event(s) your athlete plans to compete in. Possible
participation is in:

1. Open 100m
2. Open 200m
3. Open 400m
4. Open 800m
5. Open Mile
6. Open 3200
7. 4x100m relay
8. 4x200m relay
9. 4x400m relay
10. A sprint medley relay
11. A distance medley relay
12. Field Event (please specify)

All participants on a relay must be from the same

school.

Qualifying marks can be found at the NBN website, located at: http://www.nationalscholastic.org/outdoornats/guidelines/

Additionally, we hope to spend a day and a half relaxing on the beach in North Carolina before traveling home, following the
conclusion of the meet. Based on last year’s costs and our estimates, we anticipate this trip costing around $600. We try to
keep the trip affordable, but in order to transport and lodge athletes properly, we like to book hotel rooms at the place
designated for this event. Please consider this when deciding if you would like to participate. Athletes who sign up will be
given a full itinerary, cost breakdown, and meet schedule before having to commit to this trip.

Please contact steve_saul@ipsd.org with any questions regarding this camp and/or competition. We hope to see
you this summer!
