INTRODUCTIO
N
Hello there! I’m here to help you
understand more how to add integers. I
hope that you will enjoy answering and
studying this material. It will not only make
you enjoy, but, the learnings you’ve gain
will also help you in your every day life.

What are you waiting for?? Lets go..

ii. GUIDE CARD

We can use a number line to understand
more how to add integers. The sum of two
positive numbers is a positive number. The
sum of two negative numbers is negative
number. If the given is a positive and a
negative number, you will subtract them and
then you will copy the sign of the number
who has the greater absolute value. But in
the number line, you will add the positive and
negative but the process will be change to
subtraction. Copy the sign of the number
with the greater absolute value.

PROPERTIES OF ADDITION
 The COMMUTATIVE PROPERTY OF
ADDITION states that changing the order of
the addends in addition does not change the
sum.
 The ASSOCIATIVE PROPERTY OF
ADDITION states that the way the addends are
grouped in a sum does not affect the sum.
 The IDENTITY PROPERTY OF ADDITION
states that the number 0 is the identity element
for addition in the set of whole numbers because
adding 0 to any whole number does not change
the whole number.

iii. activity card

ACTIVITY #1
FIND THE SUM.

1. 5 t 3 = 4. (-56) t 45 =
2. (-7) t (-3) = 5. 301 t (-94) =
3. 3 t (-6) =

ACTIVITY # 2
1. (-5) + 10 = 4. 67 + (-86) =

2. (-100) + 56 = 5. 98 + (-165) =

3. (-23) + (-64) =
ACTIVITY # 3
1. (-56) + 123 (-51) = 4. 156 + (-96) + 23 =

2. 114 + (-45) + (-86) = 5. 23 + (-69) + 120 =

3. (-102) + (-156) + 300 =

ANSWER THE PROBLEMS GIVEN BELOW
USING THE ADDITION OF INTEGERS.
1. I am a stamp collector, I already collected 567
stamps. I ask help with my friends and they
gave me 486 stamps. How many stamps are
there in all?
2. Patricia Anne is playing ‘’PIKO’’. She jumps

paying 306 pesos?
5. I decided to go upstairs. I walk 6 steps forward
and another 8 steps to reach my room, how
many steps did I take in all?
Activity # 2.

Enumerate the 3 properties of

addition. Explain. (5 points)

Activity #3.
Differentiate the following
 Commutative and associative
 Associative and identity
 Identity and commutative

V.ENRICHMENT
CARD
ADD THE GIVEN NUMBERS TO ANSWER THE
MAIN QUESTION.
“WHAT IS THE MOST
STUPID THING THAT
DANIELLE BAYLA DID
WHEN HE IS BROKEN
HEARTED?”
ANSWER:
He put the 1.____ of the 2._____ on a
3._____ and 4._____ it away. After a
minute, he will 5.___ it and 6.____ the
7.____ he 8.____.

1. 3 + (-4) + 2 =
2. 45 + 3 + (-26) =
3. (-18) + (-9) + 5 =
4. 67 + (-16) =
5. 100 + (-50) =
6. (-89) + 19 =
7. 34 + 72 + (-53) =
8. 19 + (-25) + 11 =

Wrote = 5 kiss = -70

Get = 50 girl = 22
Throw = 51 slipper =-22
Name = 53 name = 1
Activity # 2.
Explain how to add integers on your own
words.

Activity #3.
1. Mt. Everest, the highest elevation in Asia, is 29,028
feet above sea level. The Dead Sea, the lowest
elevation, is 1,312 feet below sea level. What is the
