Introduction
Vistex is a third-party tool provided by Vistex Inc. It is an add-on to the ECC server. In other words, it sits on
top of ECC. It is best suited to handle complex calculation like processing rebates, sales commissions, Bill
backs, chargeback in ECC. It has a different set of objects and tables. Vistex provides valuable solutions to
organization that operates in one of the following sectors:
Wholesale Distribution
Consumer and Commercial Products
Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices
Industrial Machinery and Components
High Tech and Electronics
Process Manufacturing
Retail
Vistex provides the Incentives and Paybacks (IP) Module which is comprised of two fully-integrated
embedded SAP add-on applications, SAP Incentives Administration by Vistex and SAP Paybacks and
Chargeback by Vistex. The data generated by the add-on applications can be extracted to BI by the data
sources provided by Vistex. This document outlines the important steps needed to use Vistex data sources.
Business Scenario
You company is using Vistex and you want to extract the data into BI for reporting purpose.
There are three data sources for each of the above mentioned applications. The three data source includes
data source for header data, item data and condition data. BW data sources are available in Vistex releases
30B SP6, 40B SP7 and 60A SP4. If you have any of this Vistex releases installed on your ECC server then
you can view Vistex data sources in RSA6 under “SD” application component. Below is the screenshot of the
same.
One has to follow the standard activation and configuration process to customize or enhance the extract
structure of Vistex data sources.
Setup Details
Vistex provides different programs to fill the setup tables as well as to delete the setup tables. For every
application, there are different programs. Following are the programs for setup and setup deletion by
application
Application Setup Program Setup Delete program
2. By default the fields “Created On”, “Date of termination” and “Time of termination” is populated with
latest information. For example, current date is populated in “Created On” and “Date of termination”
whereas current time is populated in “Time of termination” as shown in the screenshot below:
Make sure that you change these parameters otherwise setup will not take care of historic documents.
3. Check the “New run” checkbox and mention the setup name in the “Name of run” field. Execute the
setup in background as shown in the below screenshot.
Other selections can be given at the time of setup as per the requirement.
In order to delete setup table, proceed as follows:
1. Execute transaction “SE38” and enter the program name as “/IRM/MCIPCR_SETUP_DELETE”.
2. On executing the above program, you will see a “Confirmation Prompt” as shown in the below
screenshot.
Namespace Maintenance in BI
Before replicating the Vistex data sources in BI, one has to maintain the namespace for Vistex. The system
will not allow activating the data source if namespace is not maintained in BI. The namespace for Vistex is
“/IRM/”. Namespace '/IRM/' must be entered in both the BI table RSNSPACE and the basic table
TRSNSPACE or the view V_TRNSPACE. Generally, maintaining namespace in standard tables or views is
carried out by basis consultants. Hence, one should contact the basis team to carry out this activity.
Namespace maintenance in ECC is taken care during Vistex installation. Below is the screenshot of the view
“V_TRNSPACE” in which Vistex namespace is maintained.
Vistex provides different delta programs to extract delta from ECC. After executing initialization from BW, one
has to schedule the delta programs in order to schedule the delta infopackages. Following are the Delta
Programs by application:
Billbacks /IRM/MCIPBB_DELTA
Purchasing /IRM/MCIPPR_DELTA
Rebates
