Felicity House Fundraiser

Greensville Trust
“Sacred education is a God given right of each person that begins
prior to birth. Our mission is to deliver this inalienable right;
thereby facilitating our ultimate purpose, to know God.”
Our Vision. To nurture holistic faith-based communities that
have at their heart educational institutions that impart a broad
and relevant traditional Islamic curriculum. is vision is
underpinned by the principles of sincerity, excellence and
education rooted in practice; binding formal learning to the
imperative of action and seeing education as a transformative
process and not merely informative.
Our Aims
We believe our communities can only flourish and be protected
from the ills of wider society through promoting authentic
Islamic education rooted in the highest tradition of scholarship
and this means making learning accessible and relevant to
Muslims living in contemporary Britain. Our aims are to:
[1] To establish traditionally inspired contemporary
educational institutions that teach the essential sciences of
Islam through the employment of highly qualified teachers

[2] To provide financial and administrative support to UK

based students seeking to attain sacred knowledge in order
to nurture home grown teachers of the tradition

[3] To develop a wide range of religious and educational

materials in the English language that assist in the
education of Muslims in Britain
Our Strategy is to maximise impact and widen the circle of
benefit to encompass whole communities. All our students are
therefore encouraged to reach out and engage with the people
of their own localities through teaching and lending support to
any community based initiative that promotes morality and
good practice; once again the principle of knowledge rooted in
practice.
Our Approach: As we hold a conviction that sacred
education is a birthright that begins before birth, our
approach to education is not limited to a particular age
group – education really is about life long learning from the
cradle to the grave. We also recognise the central role of
parents in their children’s education so one of our priorities
is the establishment of a nursery facility that joins up early
year’s education with parenting training and support.
Our Partners: Due to our longstanding involvement within the
sphere of classical education here in the UK, the Trust has been
able to gain regular access to a network of senior international
Islamic scholars and has simultaneously built partnerships with
educational institutions, the length and breadth of the UK.
Current Projects
[1] e Micro-Madrasa
Now in its fourth year, the Micro-Madrasa is a school of
Islamic literacy for adults based on a classical Islamic
curriculum that is universal and embracing in its teachings;
sensitive and relative to its modern context and anchored in
moral practice.
e Micro-madrasa covers the whole of the North West of
England and part of the North East too. It operates from sites
in Liverpool and Huddersfield and serves over 250 students
from a wide range of backgrounds and professions.
e Micro-Madrasa employs appropriate academic spaces,
alongside the usage of new technologies and innovative
teaching methods. For example, classroom based learning is
augmented by online resources and periodic online sessions,
an area Greensville is continually developing. is modern
approach facilitates and enhances knowledge acquisition
through improved accessibility and opportunities for distance
learning.
Delivered by qualified teachers who have themselves benefited
from some of today’s most respected scholars from across the
Muslim world, the focus is on providing a learning experience
that emphasises relevancy, practice and self transformation.
e teaching covers those areas incumbent on all Muslims to
know, such as eology, Law and Spirituality.
Our approach has borne fruit with several of our students
developing and implementing teaching programmes in their
localities; with others going on to further their studies in
institutions of repute in the Middle East.
[2] Trodden Path Sacred Retreat
e Trodden Path Sacred Retreat presents 100 students with
the annual opportunity to seek companionship and
instruction at the feet of some of the bearers of the prophetic
legacy in the modern age.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Welsh Llyn Peninsula,
the Retreat allows students to experience living in a faith-
based environment; underpinned by the three loy objectives
of Islam; knowledge, purificatory practice and da‘wah.
[3] Community Outreach
e Micro-madrasa model is strengthened by a network of
partnerships established through outreach work in
communities in the Wirral, Lancashire, Yorkshire, London and
Sussex. e outreach sessions provide students with a gateway
to more structured and committed study offered on the Micro-
Madrasa.
is gives significant geographical coverage, real grassroots
presence and an opportunity to grow our provision in the
future. Crucially, this arrangement also provides invaluable
support to partner organisations both in terms of capacity
building and the confidence to engage with the wider
community.
[4] Community Networks
Consisting of community centred groups and organisations,
the purpose of the Grassroots Network is to help shape a
coherent national vision of Islamic education and da‘wah. e
Grassroots Network is also tasked with building the capacity
of worthy seedling initiatives to achieve long term viability.
rough it, local organisations are connected to a national
framework to facilitate the sharing of expertise and resources.
Membership to date includes ten organisations from across
the UK, constituted as registered charities, charitable
companies or community associations.
Future Projects
[1] Happy Children Nurseries
Happy Children Nurseries supports children in their early
years of creative learning through language centred spiritual
play and endeavours to provide a holistic and loving
environment underpinned by classical Islamic teachings.
In the early years creative play, language and a nurturing child-
centric environment are key factors towards ensuring that
children fulfil their seemingly unlimited potential. It is for this
reason that we have made them the cornerstones of our
pedagogy, so as to ensure that we fully support the child’s
spiritual, emotional and intellectual development.
Vision: to provide a traditionally inspired and culturally inclusive
nursery focused on creative language centred learning through the
medium of ‘organic spiritual play.’

We declare that sacred education is about life long learning
from the cradle to the grave

We recognise the central role of parents in their children’s
education

We intend to develop a nursery facility that joins up early
year’s education with parenting training and support
[2] Greensville Primary School
Vision: to nurture children who;

Know God,
• Understand the central importance of the Messenger of God 
as the embodiment of the pre-eternal word of God

Are fully equipped to serve Him.
Knowing God implies specific knowledge required for the
fulfilment of the sacred covenant. is is the essence of the
Greensville School.
e Messenger of God  is the means by which God
communicates His pre-eternal word to His creation. is is
made manifest in the Messenger’s  words, actions and
character. Understanding his  importance will lead to love
and imitation.
‘Equipped to serve Him’ means that we want to provide them
with the necessary religious, academic and social tools that will
aid them in the fulfilment of their duty to God, in the optimal
manner.
Aims: Our aims are to;

Develop the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical
potential that lies within each student, developing a
profundity in each individual that is intrinsically connected
to his or her role as the divine representative in the world.

Impart respect and appreciation for all of God’s creation.
Fundraising for Felicity House
e problems around renting classroom and office space
(availability, cost, suitability) are becoming increasingly difficult
to overcome and are proving to be a hinderance to the further
development of our work. We have grown to a point where we
need our own dedicated and fit for purpose site.
Greensville Trust therefore requires funding to establish Felicity
House; a multi purpose educational facility which will serve to:

Accommodate the Greensville Academy.

Provide the capacity to support and expand our network of
Micro-madrasas.

Serve as the Trust’s administrative headquarters.

Generate sufficient resources to work towards a position of
financial sustainability.

Develop and preserve the Islamic identity whilst providing a
place for spiritual and moral growth and fulfilment for Muslims.

Develop and deliver short courses, workshops, residencies and
exhibitions for schools and colleges, and public sector agencies
and voluntary sector organisations.

Provide access to advisory services in order to assist in
resolving the educational, cultural and social problems of the
Muslim community.

Develop an environment that is sensitive to the needs of new
Muslims offering specially tailored course and opportunities for
social inclusion and support.
