 LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE REPORT
Phase I of our common area
restoration and beautification will
begin in weeks! The project will
soon become reality as we make
final arrangements with the
contractor regarding the
Superstition Boulevard site. We
have arranged to have the
landscape design company
oversee the project to make sure it
is completed to spec.
After careful consideration, the
committee presented
recommendations to the board and
the decision was made to hire KW
Professional Hardscaping &
Maintenance, a local company.
Final preparation is underway and
we are hopeful the project will be
completed in April.
We will also be contacting our
„foster‟ plant families soon as the
time to plant on Superstition BLVD
is near!
Meeting the grant requirements is a
priority for the Landscape
Committee now. One of the
requirements involves the Block
Watch program, which has been
successfully reactivated in the
community as of December 2010.
There were two meetings held in
December and we had a fantastic

There is still some work to be done
to fulfill the education requirement
of the Grant. Hopefully you
received the handout regarding
landscaping classes the City of
Chandler is sponsoring for the next
few months. As a condition of our
grant, we must have 10 residents
participate in a class. (Classes are
again listed on back of this flyer.)
The landscape committee is
planning a class with Chandler‟s
Water Conservation Specialist,
Cathy Rymer to be held in the

hopefully a thing of the past.
Now is the time to get out there
and trim up your plants and
bushes damaged by the cold so
they‟ll have a good chance to
blossom this spring and

The committee also wanted to
address the issue of the trees in
both common areas as many of the
trees were in desperate need of a
serious trim. We were fortunate
enough to find Urban Forest, a
reputable company that mapped
out both common areas and
provided a map of all our trees by
type, and their specific needs.
Urban Forest was hired to trim nine
trees in December and we hope to
trim more in the next few months.
We addressed trees needing the
most immediate attention including
two in the Ray Road common area
that were hanging in resident‟s
yards as well as the enormous
mesquite along Superstition
Boulevard. We have now created
for our community a rotating tree
maintenance schedule!
We are so excited to see Phase I
actually become reality. It‟s been a
long road to get to this point but it
has been so worthwhile.
The Landscape Committee is open
to all members of the community.

“SMART” IRRIGATION REBATE

The City of Chandler is
encouraging water conservation
by offering rebates for City of
Chandler residents who install
automatic “Smart” irrigation
controllers. These “Smart”
irrigation controllers typically
reduce water use by 30% over
manually controlled irrigation
systems. They use current
weather data and information
about site conditions, such as Residential applicants are eligible
