Ten Minutes’ Worth of Valuable, Practical Reading

New book is a compilation of political writings from an erudite Khmer
Long Beach, CA – March 3, 2011 – Author Sovathana Sokhom shares the great mind and wealth of knowledge
of Dr. Gaffar Peang-Meth to inspire Khmers and non-Khmers alike through a collection of short articles that
take no more than ten minutes to read. But in those ten minutes, readers will get uplifted, can build hope, and
can realize their capability. In this newly published anthology of Professor Gaffar Peang-Meth’s selected
political writings, the author poses this question to all: What Is Your Ten Minutes Worth?

This book is divided into seven chapters. Each chapter contains common and similar threads of ideas and
inspiration. This allows readers easy access to articles they are interested in. It is organized in such way to
provide readers with options to read any or more articles in any chapter according to their interest. The best part
is that each article doesn’t take more than ten minutes of the readers’ time.

“It is my hope to augment the understanding of Khmer intergenerations—the elder Khmer scholars who
survived Pol Pot’s killing fields and the young Khmer scholars who are faced with national and international
challenge in the twenty-first century—both groups that need to explore and exchange what are the “Khmer” that
they have in common, in interests and values, to build peace and security, promote democracy and economic
growth for all Khmers in Cambodia, as well as for the people in less developed and developing countries, so
they can enjoy “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness” and realize their potential and capacity to compete within
their countries, between nation-states in the regions, and in the world,” shares the author.

All proceeds from the book will contribute to further promote other Khmer scholars’ writings in the social
science field so that their scholarships, their visions, can be shared and used to contribute to nation-building of
the Khmer motherland. For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to www.Xlibris.com.
