My military biography as of January 1, 2005

I was born 5 Dec 1972 in Buffalo NY. I graduated from Kenmore West
Senior High in 1990. I started working in auto repair shops after high
school, learning the trade. After 2 years I opened my own auto
customizing shop in Buffalo. My business was successful but I had
always wanted to join the Army. I closed my business in September 1996
and went to the recruiter. I conducted basic training at Fort Benning,
GA, assigned to B Co 2/54. During AIT, I was chosen to attend Dragon
Gunnery training with 9 other soldiers from my company. I earned the
skill identifier C2 upon completion of the course. I graduated AIT on
3 July 1997. My first assignment was to the 101st Airborne Division
Air Assault, Fort Campbell, KY where I served as an RTO with A Co
1/502nd Infantry Regiment. I was promoted to Private First Class on 1
Nov 1997 following redeployment from NTC. I was then reassigned to the
2nd Infantry Division, Republic of Korea in July of 1998. I served as
an RTO with C Co 1/503 Infantry Regiment, Air Assault. I was promoted
to Specialist on 1 Mar 1999. Upon completion of my tour in Korea I was
reassigned for a second time to A Co 1/502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st
Airborne Division Air Assault, Fort Campbell, KY. I was promoted to
Corporal after 2 months of arriving to the unit where I then served as
a Team Leader. While serving with A Co 1/502nd I was promoted to SGT
on 16 Mar 2001. After 2 years I requested to go back to Korea. I was
assigned to the United Nations Honor Guard on November of 2001. I
served as a Team Leader and later was moved up to a Squad Leader
position. Due to the pregnancy of my wife, I requested an extension. I
was granted a 3 month extension and returned back to CONUS on 3 March
2003 where I was assigned to 1st Battalion 16th Infantry Regiment,
Iron Rangers. I am currently serving as the Battalion Ammunition NCO.
I am currently deployed with Task Force Iron Rangers in Ar Ramadi
Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During my deployment with
the Iron Rangers I have been promoted to SSG with date of rank, 1 Jun
04.

My military education consists of the following: Primary Leadership

Development Course ( Commandants list), Air Assault School, Hazardous
Material Certifier Course, Ammunition Handlers Course and Field
Sanitation Course. My awards include Army Commendation Medal, Army
Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service
Medal, the Good Conduct Medal x 2 and also recently awarded the Korean
Service Medal. I earned the Expert Infantryman’s Badge in June 2003
where I was recognized for earning the coveted title True Blue and the
Combat Infantryman’s Badge in November of 2003. I have also recently
attended Explosive Hazard Awareness Training in May of 2004.

My short term goals are to successfully manage and account for the
Battalions ammunition during redeployment. I also plan to go to the
Basic Non Commissioned Officers Course shortly after redeployment is
complete.
My long term goals are to continue my military training and enhance my
leadership skills by attending Ranger school. I would also like to
further my civilian education by either taking courses at night or via
the internet. I would like to complete my Bachelors degree in
management within the next 5 years. I will strive to do what is
necessary to become a platoon sergeant in the near future.
