Drawing creation of Fuel tank & its component as per OEM Standards.
Designing and routing of Brake and Fuel Pipes.
Handling of Fuel Pump projects of TI Automotive (Caro Development centre, US).
Schedule Projects, distribute work, checking of models and drawing.

Project Accomplishments:

 Title: DESIGN OF PLASTIC FUEL TANK

Client: Ashok Leyland
Name of Project: 513/613T
Software: CATIA V5 R18

Description:
1. Design of Tank: The inputs for the project are the Vehicle environment from Ashok Leyland and
technical specifications such as
The capacity of tank must be 50 liters.
The wall thickness of the tank must be 4.5 mm.
There must be 10 mm clearance between the tank and the surrounding parts of the body.
2. Design of Filler Pipe:
The function of the filler pipe is to fill the tank with the intended rate (liters/min) of fill. This is also a blow
molded component.
The routing of the pipe is according to the vehicle geometry and hence the filler pipe has varying cross
sections and complex routing.
Since the filler pipe has a fluid flow, it has to be tangent continuous throughout its shape. Hence it
needs to be designed with advanced surface modeling techniques of CATIA V5.
3. Design of Tank Straps:
Straps are sheet metal components which are used to fix the tank with car chassis

Description:
1. Design of Filler Pipe:
The function of the filler pipe is to fill the tank with the intended rate (liters/min) of fill. This is also a blow
molded component.
2. Modification of Tank: The inputs for the project are the Vehicle environment from GMW (CHINA)
and technical specifications such as
The capacity of tank must be 65 liters.
The wall thickness of the tank must be 5 mm.
There must be 10 mm clearance between the tank and the surrounding parts of the car body.

Description:
According to the vehicle environment, we have to design the routing of the brake and fuel lines. For
designing of the lines, the important factors that to be considered are; the straight length between the
bend radii and the angle between the straight lines.
Modeling and detailing of the child components such as Connectors, Clips, spacers and frames are
carried out as per the customer requirement.
