There are several factors why a user cannot log in to the system.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 62

Incorrect Username or Password

User access details are to be given to you by your company’s

System Administrator. Each username is paired with a default
password which is recommended to be changed after your first
log in for security purposes. Check user details if correct and re-
enter them in their respective data fields. If you are logging in
after you have changed your password, make sure that you are
entering the updated password key.

Failure to Create New Vessel Voyage

Creating a new vessel voyage has specific accomplishment
requirements in order for the system to consider the request
successful. Put the following conditions into consideration if
your previous request(s) to create a new vessel voyage has
failed:

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 63

No Vessel Voyage ID entered

Vessel Voyage ID is a mandatory data field, therefore, system

would not registration of new entries if this information is not
supplied by the user. Make sure that you have entered the
correct Vessel Voyage ID before filling up other available data
fields within the screen.

No Report File to be uploaded

A Report File for uploading is required in registering a new

Vessel Voyage. It is within the said file that the salient
information about the clients owning items loaded on the vessel
being registered are stored. Through the contents of this XLS
file, the system would be able to have a record of the
authorized mobile number of each client. Make sure that there

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 64

is a Report File to be uploaded before submitting the PIN
Generation screen.

Invalid File Format

XLS is the only format the file uploading facility of the PIN
Generation page only accommodates. Other than the said
format, system is not capable of reading information from other
word or spreadsheet document formats. Check if the file being
uploaded is on XLS format.

Invalid Report File

Contents of Report File must follow the format prescribed in

order for the system to recognize the data cited within the file.
Table must be free from unnecessary cell shade coloring and
other visual formatting attributes, since the system is also not
capable of decoding such complex factors. Format the contents

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 65

according to the default column sequence specified by Globe
Telecom PS-CAD to prevent this kind of error.

Failure to Update Existing Vessel Voyage

Updating an existing vessel voyage only relies on the same
requirements when creating a new one. For any error that may
occur, please refer to the previous topic for complete details.

Failure to create New Customer Maintenance

Record
Customer Maintenance records require several information in
order for the system to have a detailed data registry of the
customer being entered. Consider the following factors why the
creation of a new Customer Maintenance record might fail:

Unaccomplished Mandatory Data Fields

A number of details are required to be provided in creating a

new Customer Maintenance record. Failure to supply values
within mandatory data fields would cause the request to
automatically fail. Make sure that appropriate details are
provided within such data fields in order to assure success of
the operation.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 66

Invalid Detail Entries

Certain data fields in the Customer Maintenance form has been

designed to recognize proper data formats. System would reject
saving of entry in the event that it has detected an invalid data
entry within a data field that has specific format requirements.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 67

Failure to Upload Customer Maintenance Bulk
File
IoD has specific requirements in order for the system to acquire
the information stored in an upload file. However, cases may
occur that the system might refuse to acquire the file being
uploaded. The following are the possible causes why IoD might
not accept upload file:

No File to be Uploaded

At least one file must be uploaded in order for the system to

process the Bulk Uploading facility for IoD’s Customer
Maintenance screen. Failure to select a file to be uploaded
would cause the system to automatically void the requested
process.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 68

Duplicate Contents

IoD is capable of detecting the contents of the upload file,

whether it has already been uploaded or not. System would
reject the uploading if it has detected that the contents of the
file being uploaded already exists within the system’s Customer
Maintenance registry.

Invalid File Format

The only file format IoD was designed to be only capable of

accommodating is XLS, a spreadsheet format common in
Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice.Org Calc. Uploading a file of a
different file format would be automatically rejected by APL
IoD.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 69

Failure to Update Existing Customer Maintenance
entry
Updating an existing Customer Maintenance entry only relies on
the same requirements when creating a new one. For any error
that may occur, please refer to the previous topic for complete
details.

Failure to Send an SMS Blast Message

Sending an SMS Blast Message may be easy, however, it is
important that the necessary form terms must be first met
before approving the note for sending. If an error occurred
while attempting to send an SMS Blast Message, refer to the
below cases which may have caused the problem:

No Recipient Specified

It is important to specify at least one group recipient for the

created SMS blast in order for the system to identify the parties
to whom shall the message be delivered. User may select one or
both of the groups presented in the SMS Blast screen. However,
failure to check at least one group recipient would cause the
process to be refused by the system.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 70

No Message

SMS Blast is a feature created to send mass SMS message to

APL's client recipients. Therefore, it is important that a message
should be encoded in the SMS Blast window before it is
submitted for sending. System would reject the process once it
detects that no message is encoded in SMS Blast's Message box.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 71

No Report Data Generated
Reports data relies on the actual figures and activities
information that the system has been able to gather. In the
event that the system has failed to pull a report result into the
screen, the following are the possible causes of this problem:

No Internet Connection

APL IoD requires a stable Internet connection for it to be able to

contacts its database. Absence of network connection would fail
a lot of operations the system is capable of committing, which
includes retrieval of Reports information from the database.

No Actual Data on Conditions Required

If the system has failed to pull Reports data after specifying limiting parameters, it is possible
that there is no transaction or figure that the IoD has recorded on the given date for the report
category selected. Make sure that the date span and Report type being selected is correct, and
that an actual transaction has really occurred on the target conditions.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 72

Failure to Change Password
Changing of password is allowed within the system, however,
there are certain reasons why the system might not permit this
operation:

Blank Mandatory Data Fields

All three data fields within the Change Password screen are
mandatory, therefore must be completed with their respective
values prior submitting. Failure to accomplish any of these data
fields would result the system to reject the password changing
request.

Passwords Do Not Match

To make sure that the user has entered the right password, IoD
requires the user to enter the new password twice. These two
password entries should match each other. However, if the
system detects that they are different from one another, IoD
would immediately inform the user of the discrepancy of
character entry.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 73

No User Activity Data Generated
If no User Activity data has been generated by the system after
clicking the Retrieve button, several factors may have inflicted
the situation:

No User Activity

Under this facility of the system, APL IoD searches through the
activity logs which are automatically recorded by the system
everytime a user commits an activity in the system. However, if
the system did not present any information upon retrieval, it
could be that the user did not commit any operation within the
date span specified.

APL IoD User’s Guide Page 74

Screen cannot be marked as Favorite
Lack of stable connectivity to the Internet is the primary reason
why the system might fail to mark loaded screen as a Favorite.
Make sure that the computer is connected to the Internet to
solve this problem.

User is automatically logged out of the system

APL IoD has been designed to automatically log out users if the
access remained inactive for a certain span of time. This time
out feature was created to protect the user account from being
used by unauthorized users.
