ePDQ and ePDQ-Lite Terms and Conditions

1. INTRODUCTION AND DEFINITIONS
These conditions set out the terms and
conditions relating to ePDQ and ePDQ Lite.
These conditions supplement and form part
of your Merchant Agreement and any
defined terms have the same meaning as
those set out in the Merchant Agreement
unless expressly stated otherwise. The
terms and conditions of your Merchant
Agreement will apply except insofar as such
term or condition is negated or contradicted
by a term or condition of these Additional
Service Conditions.
Unless otherwise stated, the clauses set out
in these ePDQ and ePDQ-Lite terms and
conditions shall apply to both ePDQ and
ePDQ-Lite customers. Where clauses relate
solely to either ePDQ or ePDQ-Lite
customers, this will be clearly indicated
in the relevant clauses.
In this document the words and phrases
below have the meanings shown next
to them:
“Charges” amounts you must pay us and
which are detailed in the Charges Schedule
to the Merchant Agreement.
“Barclaycard Business Internet Site”
the ePDQ and ePDQ-Lite web pages
contained on the Internet at the
address:www.barclaycardbusiness.co.uk/acc
epting_cards/phone_mail_internet/end_to_
end, including changes and updates to
those web pages.
“ePDQ” the service detailed in the
‘Accepting cards’ by phone, mail order and
internet’ section of the Barclaycard Business
Internet Site.
“ePDQ-Lite” the service detailed in the
‘Accepting cards’ by phone, mail order and
internet’ section of the Barclaycard Business
Internet Site.
“CPI or MPI Integration” Cardholder
Payment Interface or Merchant Payment
Interface Integration.
“Procedure Guide” the operating
procedures for accepting card transactions.

“Merchant Agreement” the Barclaycard
Business agreement which you have
entered into with us.
“Store Administration Tool” the
management information tool to review
transactions processed online and process
manual transactions.
“Transaction Data” details of Card
Payments, Refunds, authorisations,
authentications and settlement sent to us
by you or your merchant service provider.
2. SERVICE
2.1We will process and transmit between
you and us all Transaction Data received by
us in accordance with the terms of these
Additional Service Conditions.
ePDQ-Lite Customers Only (clause 2.3)
2.2 You may only use ePDQ or ePDQ-Lite
for Card Not Present Payments.
2.3 You acknowledge that transactions
shown on ePDQ or ePDQ-Lite may not be
displayed in real time. We use all reasonable
efforts to ensure that information relating to
your transactions is accurate, complete and
up-to-date but we cannot guarantee that
this will always be the case.
3. CHARGES
Any Charges arising from the operation of
ePDQ will be billed with other Charges due
under your Merchant Agreement.
4. CPI/MPI CODE AND MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS
4.1 You may, subject to these conditions
and with our prior agreement, download the
CPI/MPI Integration documentation and the
ePDQ and ePDQ-Lite operating guides.
4.2 You warrant that your computer
hardware, software and operating systems
are compatible with and able to utilise ePDQ
and ePDQ-Lite as specified on the
Barclaycard Business Internet Site or any
location specified by us.
4.3 You may only access the ePDQ and
ePDQ-Lite Store Administration Tool using
hardware and software which we advise
you of on the Barclaycard Business Internet
Site or any other location specified by us.
You may not access the ePDQ and ePDQ-
Lite Store Administration Tool via any other
form of hardware device or software
including, but not limited to, mobile phones
and personal digital assistants. You may
access ePDQ-Lite using hardware and
software which we advise you of on the
Barclaycard Business Internet Site from time
to time.
5. KEEPING TO OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE
GUIDELINES
You must comply with the Procedure Guide,
Installation and Integration Documentation
and Operating Guides as amended from
time to time, such amended and updated
guides being shown on our Internet Site or
any other location specified by us.
6. PROTECTION AND SECURITY
6.1 You must comply with the security
requirements set out on the ePDQ Internet
Site and any changes to these requirements
that we inform you of from time to time.
6.2 You must comply with any instructions
given by us on the Barclaycard Business
Internet Site or that we give you in writing
regarding the security of Cardholder
information, payment, settlement and
authorisation procedures and about any
other security matters relevant to Electronic
Commerce Payments or, where relevant,
Card Not Present Payments.
6.3 You must ensure that Card details,
Payment Details, authentication responses
and Cardholder names and addresses
collected by you using ePDQ are kept secure
from unauthorised access or disclosure at
all times.
6.4 You must not retain or disclose a
Cardholder's card security code.
6.5 Upon reasonable notice, you will permit
us to inspect your computer systems and
software in order to check that the security
measures used comply with our
requirements. We will comply with any
reasonable written security regulations for
your site that you provide us.
6.6 An inspection under clause 6.5 may not
mean that we have approved your security
procedures. You will not state nor imply,
either in writing or otherwise, that we have
approved or endorsed any of the security
measures of your Internet service.
6.7 We will provide you with a unique
username and password to use ePDQ and
ePDQ-Lite. You will keep the username and
password secure and confidential at all
times. Should you disclose those details to a
third party (including employees, agents
and subcontractors), you shall be
responsible for ensuring that they are used
in accordance with these Additional Service
Conditions and that they are kept secure
and confidential at all times.
6.8 In the event that your username and/or
password is lost, stolen, copied or otherwise
disclosed or accessed by a third party
without your permission, you shall
immediately notify us.
6.9 You shall ensure that your method of
Internet access is secure at all times. In the
event that you intend to remotely access
ePDQ and ePDQ-Lite Store Administration
Tool you shall ensure that the method of
connection is secure. You shall take all steps
necessary to ensure that on each occasion
before you access ePDQ and ePDQ-Lite
Store Administration Tool, your system is
free from any virus which may adversely
affect operation of ePDQ and ePDQ-Lite
Store Administration Tool and/or
compromise the protection and security
requirements detailed in this Condition 6.
6.10 You shall input Card data within 8
hours of receipt and you shall input such
data accurately and completely (applies to
ePDQ-Lite only).
6.11 You will ensure that the fraud
prevention and detection devices which are
provided with ePDQ and ePDQ-Lite Store
Administration Tool are utilised at all times.
6.12 You will ensure that you process all
Transactions within ‘Production’ processing
mode. All test transactions will be
conducted in an alternate processing mode.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
7.1 We will not be liable to you if we are
unable to fulfil our obligations under these
Additional Service Conditions if such failure
arises as a result of anything beyond our
reasonable control. This includes, but is not
limited to:
(a) the failure or breakdown of any machine,
data processing system or transmission link;
(b) industrial dispute;
(c) any break in power supply to us; or
(d) any outage which may be notified to
you from time to time.
7.2 You use ePDQ or ePDQ-Lite and its
documentation at your own risk and in no
event will we be liable to you for any loss or
damage of any kind (except personal injury
or death resulting from our negligence)
including loss of profit, loss of business, loss
of reputation, loss of opportunity or any
other special, consequential or indirect loss 11. COMPLAINT PROCEDURES

9. ENDING THIS ADDITIONAL SERVICE
9.1 If either one of us ends your Merchant
Agreement this Additional Service will also
end.
9.2 We may also end this Additional Service
by giving you at least thirty days written
notice or, in exceptional circumstances such
as those set out in Condition 4.1(h)(i) to
(viii) of the Merchant Agreement, or where
we suspect fraud, or you are unable to
comply with the security standards we
specify then we may end this Additional
Service by giving you immediate notice.
9.3 You may end this Additional Service at
any time by giving us thirty days' written
notice.
9.4 We may also end this Additional Service
upon reasonable notice if following an
inspection under Condition 6.5 we consider
that you are in breach of the criteria laid
down by us under Condition 6.1.
9.5 You must not send us any Transaction
Data relating to Electronic Commerce
Payments that take place after this
Additional Service has ended.
9.6 If this Additional Service ends, you will
continue to be liable to us for all obligations
that arose before the service ended.
10. GENERAL
10.1 These Additional Service Conditions are
governed by English law and the parties
submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the
English courts.

For BT business customers calls will cost no more
than 5p per minute, minimum call charge 5.9p (current
