EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
A one or two page detailed summary of work experience or assignments. Consolidate
or remove previous work experience or assignments as necessary to ensure this
section is no more than two pages. A client is not likely to read a detailed listing of
assignments over many years, but instead, is looking for an indication of an individual’s
breadth and depth of experience.
As much as possible, quantify items in this section. For example, it is better to say
“managed two $1Million projects” than “managed two large projects”
This section should be completed in the third person, so refer to yourself by name or
she/he.
Depending on your experience and the potential assignment, you may be asked to
tailor this section for a specific opportunity. For example, an individual with both
technical and project management experience may have two versions of this section;
one highlighting each area of expertise.
Clients should not be referred to by their name in this section, but rather, by a
description of their business.

effort to assist an unemployment agency in creating and implementing modernization
recommendations through a series of projects over a four-year time period. The overall
modernization program had a $20 million budget, and at any one time, two to five
separate projects running concurrently. Working with a total of ten other analysts
provided by the agency, he ensured that critical systems were thoroughly understood,
documented, and tested. Part of this effort involved working closely with the client team
to create a process for applying ongoing updates to business documentation.
