Lev. 6: 8 – 8:36.
It is no accident the location of the Altar which is the subject in the Torah
portion, is the same as that of the altar built by Solomon, purchased from
Ornan (translated by Strongs’ as: Light perpetuated) the Jebusite. 2 Chron. 3:
1. It is here that Cain & Abel supposedly brought their offerings, where Noah
built an altar upon exiting the Ark, and of course, Adam was created here at
his own place of Atonement!
There is another anomaly in this verse: In Hebrew, the word for burning,
#4169, מוקדהmowqĕdah, hearth, top of the altar, is written with a diminished
‘Mem’. The Mem means from, the source of origin, and also represents
MAKOM – The Place. The vav hints at Messiah, Qoph – Dalet – Hey = to
kindle, be burned. Thus, we see this Altar represents the Place where Messiah
was to be offered as the Burnt Sacrifice of the Red Heifer!
The Priest.
Lev. 6: 10 And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen
breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the
fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall
put them beside the altar.
Ashes, #1880, דשןdeshen, this word means ‘fat ashes’ and is different
from the usual word for ash, which is aphar, ash, dust. Deshen also
means, to be fresh, thriving, to anoint, to be fertile, nourished. If we
break the word apart, the Dalet = door, while the Shin – Nun, shin,
represents a tooth as in to devour, consume, but, it also depicts to
change, to learn. Thus, as the sacrifice was consumed, we were changed,
having been brought to the Learned One, who made us alive, and
shemened – oiled us with the fat, making us anointed and fertile!
These verses tell us, as the Bride, we’re to put on the Garment of Messiah –
The Priesthood, and as we are obedient in our duties, we become an offering
ourselves, made alive, anointed, and fertile, as we are changed into His image!
Our obligations don’t end with ourselves, but extend to those ‘outside’ the
camp.
Lev. 6: 11 And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments,
and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place.
Changing Garments?
What is happening? The People are seeing two different individuals. Once we
come in contact with the Sacrifice of Messiah – we are changed from one
given to strong rebellion, and deceitful treachery, to One who has become a
NEW CREATURE/ NEW PERSON with a New Heart! 2 Cor. 5:17.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are
passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The Gk. word for Creature, Gk. #2937, ktis-is, implies a certain proprietor-
ship of the manufacturer. Thus, you belong to the one who as effected this
change! It is closely related to #2932, ktah’-om- ahee, to acquire or procure
for oneself – as in acquiring a wife! This is where we are changed!
We are to carry the Ashes, the deshen, fertile anointing, outside the camp, to a
clean place – I.E. a prepared place. The word for place is maqowm, #4725,
and is the name given to the place where Jacob had his dream. He called it the
“PLACE”. Mem = the origin, while qum #6966, means to stand erect, arise, to
achieve STATURE! This is the place where we will be seen fulfilling Eph. 4,
by achieving the measure of the Stature of Messiah in the Earth!
III. The next verse Lev. 6: 13 tells us: The fire shall ever be
burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.
• Fire, #784, ' אשesh, fire, but, it is cognate with the Hebrew words for Man,
Ish, and woman, Ishah, lacking only the Yod and Hey of YHVH. The original
man/fire was extinguished by sin, the Presence of Yah – removed, until the
Lamb is Slain.
