The salsaAPI provides a comprehensive set of features into one single offering, including text analysis, intelligent search &
discovery, and content mining. It offers a powerful RESTful API to index various sources of raw content, automatically enrich
it with additional metadata and match it with texts of similar meanings. The salsaAPI delivers an out-of-the box service for
organizations to analyze heterogeneous and unstructured information sources and turn them into smart content.

Semantic Indexing
Developers can programmatically or manually connect the salsaAPI to
various raw texts, binary documents or any other data sources. salsaDev
also supports more complex integration with existing 3rd party sites and
applications. Enterprise connectors on 40+ content repositories and
other information sources are available as optional extensions.

The semantic index is of mathematical nature, and consists of only 1%

of the original index size. Once documents are indexed, they become
available for searching, discovery, content mining and all other features
made available by the salsaAPI.

Intelligent Search
Stop thinking with keywords! Just select a text of any length or
directly upload a whole bunch of documents. The salsa technology
will automatically understand and extract the key underlying concepts
and look for content with similar meanings.

This service helps unveil implicit connections that are not easily visible in
the mass-volumes of text and documents available to users and suggests
relevant content along their typical use patterns. As such, the salsaAPI
finds the most relevant and semantically related information.

Auto-tagging & Classification

The salsaAPI automatically turns raw data into smart content. Its
annotation service can extract tags and keywords found within any
uploaded texts.

In addition, the classification service enables organizations to

automatically categorize documents through concepts found within any
unstructured texts or documents, ensuring that all data is classified in the
correct cluster with utmost accuracy and relevancy.

Content Mining & Analytics

Finally the semantic index can also be used to create a knowledge map
of your whole information universe. This map can be then used to
explore, mine, cluster or drill up/down through your mass of unstructured
text and documents.

Such value-added analytical services can be used for eDiscovery, brand

reputation or business intelligence purposes according to specific needs.

The salsaAPI can be used online or onsite and can be easily embedded within any 3rd party sites or applications.

salsaAPI Onsite
salsaAPI Onsite is available for customers with large volumes of information and a strong need for high
levels of data security & confidentiality. The salsaAPI comes with an embedded capability to integrate to
40+ content applications including MS Sharepoint, Alfresco, Lotus Notes and Exchange.

The basic requirements for installing salsaAPI Onsite are: J2EE Application Server (Glassfish,
Weblogic, Websphere), SQL DB (MySQL/Oracle), and a minimum of 4GB RAM.
