Career Summary

I am a development professional with more than 7 years of hands on experience. Started Work as
a volunteer with Eklavya, Dewas. In sept. 2003 associated with Muskaan (Bhopal). Here I
explore my capacities on Pre primary-elementary education, Gender & Health & and livelihood
especially in urban context. Since May 08, engaged with Youth collective (Delhi) in the frame
of Fellowship. At present partially working with Micro Associates for development of city
sanitation Plan and CMN for Youth & Media. Beyond these am taking short term assignments
& writing regularly in news letters / papers.

Present Assignment

Organization : The Youth Collective (Community Media Network)

Time frame : June 2010 to continue
Désignation : Fellow.
Project Title : Initiative towards the Positive changes in Media’s moral fiber
through youth.
Project cost : 1, 40,000 rs.
1. Working on enhancement of writing skills to youths.
2. Motivating youth to write “letter to editor” once in a month.
3. Publishing News Latter (Halla Bol).
4. Making Documentary film on Youth & Identity

Organization : Micro Associates (Funded by CEMDS-Australia)

Duration : May - Dec 2010 (13 days/month)
Designation : Consultant (Participatory Planning Expert)
Remuneration : 1200 rs./ day
Responsibilities
1. Stakeholders identification & assurance of engagement in City sanitation Plan for
participatory plan.
2. Technical situation analysis (Conducting & compiling base line study from secondary &
primary sources for water & sanitation plan of 3 Towns.).
3. Mapping Socio-economic conditions of Housing & slum areas.
4. To conduct surveys on Affordability & willingness to pay among the users.

Organization : The Youth Collective (Community Program)

Time frame : June 2008 to May 2010

Youth collective is a group of 8 national level organizations like Prawah, Samavesh etc.
In the program they are working with the youth on the various issues in the frame of Fellowship
Program in all over the India. Here am working on the title – Towards the Democracy and the
Social Justice in Dewas (M.P.).
1 Established and running Youth Activity centre and Non formal education centre for
adolescent girls in slum area. Also teaching regularly to primary level students.
2 Organizing & conducting Study circles, poster exhibitions, seminars, street plays and
road shows on social justice issues.
 3 Conducting workshops and training for school teachers in the context of deprivation
& life skill education.
4 Organizing campaign & others for “Violence against women”.

Organization : Muskaan, Bhopal (M.P)

Time frame : 23rd Sept. 03 – May 08.
Designation : Project Coordinator & Consultant.
Muskaan is intensively working in 24 slums of Bhopal, with issues relating to education,
health and livelihood program of slum dwellers. Here I was working in the capacity of asst.
project co-coordinator of elementary education program in 24 slum settings. I was solely
responsible for setting and running of Balwadi center at 24 slums. I have an additional charge of
as consultant in health for adolescent program and slum livelihood program.
Key Responsibilities:

For Non Formal Education Program

1. Liasion with education department, government schools and other stakeholder to ensure
effective participation of supporting services in project implementation and to resolve
any implementation problem.
2. Regular 3 hours teaching.
3. To conduct teachers training with Muskaan staff and with government school teachers.
4. To develop Syllabus and teaching aid for Balwadi and primary education especially for
First Generation Learners.
 Balwadi syllabus based on life skills.
 Primary education curriculum for language (Hindi) and Math.
4 Impart training to adolescents and women on issues relating to
reproductive and child health.
Conducted Base line research study with slum children & Primary govt. School children.
6 Situational analysis and evaluation of program and project of Muskaan.
Urban Health & community Program

o To plan the Project through logical framework matrix (LFM), preparing project
proposals.
o To provide guidance and support for planned community intervention in health
program especially related to adolescents and women.
o To coordinate with staff to implement community based intervention. Through this,
the organization is trying to develop the Link Health Volunteer activity in non ICDS
urban pocket and drop out area in ward no. 29, 30, and 31 in Bhopal.

Organization : "Sankalp Sewa Samiti" Dewas. (M.P.)

Time frame : July 2002- 18th Sept. 03
Designation : District Coordinator.
Sankalp sewa samiti was a rehabilitation center for drug addicts at dewas. Here I was
working with the capacity of District coordinator. Here I was solely in charge of running the
rehabilitation center.

(May 04 - Dec. 04).

I have also worked as a consultant for Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mission, Bhopal, on a short-term
assignment in three districts, for sensitization of teachers to use the Teaching Learning Material’
Sensitizing P.T.A. ‘ Conducting fairs for Education dept. on teaching learning material and
training for govt. schools teachers.

Research Studies

o Conducted a Base line study in government Primary class students in Dewas & Bhopal
(M.P.)
o Conducted a Vulnerability assessment Study & Slum mapping in bhopal city with the
help of Oxfam Fellow.
o Conducted a Research study on “Impact of Water shade Program on Socio economic
Condition of Rural People”.
o Completed a short term User Group Training Assignment for Rajiv Gandhi Water
shade Mission Dewas.
