LESSON PLAN MATHEMATICS FORM 1

1. Lesson Theme/ Topic Theme : Polygons


Topic : 1. Understand the concept of polygons.
2. Relationship between the sides, diagonals and
vertices of polygons.

2. Learning Objectives By the end of the lesson , students will be able to :

1. Use MS Power Point Slide Presentation to gain


information related to the topic.

2. Access information from the internet.

3. Complete tasks besides practising skills on using MS


Word :
- type and edit
- using ‘arrow’ icon from toolbars for matching
- using ‘draw’ or ‘autoshapes’ icon
- using ‘save’ icon .
- ‘click’ & ‘drag’

4. Using MS Word to complete tasks based on the


information gathered from the internet and also the
teacher’s Power Point presentation.

3. Learning Outcomes By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

1. Recognise and name different types of polygons .


(triangle,quadrilateral,pentagon,hexagon,heptagon
and octagon).

2. Determine the number of sides,vertices and


diagonals of given polygons.

3. Sketch polygons.
