Native Plants Project

-2011-
Wildflower Plug Plants

What we’ll provide…

In 2011 the City of Edinburgh Council’s plant nursery will provide native wildflower plug plants for your
biodiversity planting projects. Plug plants will be available from late summer for planting this year.
Plug plants are competitively priced at £3.50 per tray of 20 plants. They are from seed of Scottish
origin and grown in peat-free compost.
We have chosen 30 wildflower species suitable for three types of projects: pond / bog, meadow,
woodland. See the species list overleaf.

How to order…
1. Fill in the form below and return it to: biodiversity@edinburgh.gov.uk
2. Choose your project type – pond / bog, meadow or woodland.
3. Tell us how many trays you need, remember each tray has 20 plug plants of a single
species.
4. We aim to offer a mix of species when you collect your plants but tell us if there are any
particular species on the list that you want and we’ll do our best to make sure they’re
available.
5. Give us your contact details including email address so we can get in touch once the plants
are ready to collect.
6. We’ll be in touch to tell you when to collect the plants from the Inch nursery. Payment is due
on collection.
