Attendance Procedures and 
Regulations 
   

The following procedures and regulations regarding attendance must be abided to strictly. Failure
to comply may result in being marked “absent”. Severe cases of non-compliance will be handled by
the teachers.

1. Latecoming
1.1. Those who are more than 30 minutes late for training should produce the Excuse
Form upon reporting. The Excuse Form should be endorsed by the relevant
authorities.
1.1.1. E.g. If being held back late by teachers, fill in the Excuse Form and get the
teacher to sign it.

2. Those who are not able to come for a certain training or event due to a pre-planned event
must produce an excuse letter or Medical Certificate personally to either Brendan, Han
Sheng, or Hoong Chen.
2.1. Acceptable reasons for not coming for training due to a pre-planned event include, but
are not limited to:
2.1.1. Surgery, other competitions
2.2. Acceptable reasons for not coming for camp/special event due to a pre-planned event
include, but are not limited to:
2.2.1. Holiday booked prior to being informed of the Red Cross event, surgery, other
competitions
2.3. The Excuse Form and Attached Proof(s) must be submitted before the training or
event.
2.4. For all medical reasons, only a Medical Certificate is accepted.
2.5. Attached Proof(s) must be submitted wherever applicable.
2.5.1. For example, if a holiday was booked before being informed of the Red Cross
event, the booking confirmation clearly stating the cadet’s name, dates of
travel, as well as booking date should be submitted.

3. Those who are not able to come for a certain training or event due to a medical illness
must produce a Medical Certificate personally to either Brendan, Han Sheng, or Hoong
Chen.
3.1. The Excuse Form and Attached Proof(s) must be submitted after the training or event.
However, an SMS must be sent to Hoong Chen before the training or event starts to
keep us informed of your absence.
3.2. Those who fall sick in school and would like to be excused from training and leave
school at 1545, proceed to the reporting venue and report to Brendan, who will assess
the situation and grant leave. The Excuse Form and Attached Proof(s) must be
submitted after the training or event.
3.3. Those who fall sick in school and are allowed to leave home before school ends, and
cannot attend training, must send an SMS to Hoong Chen upon leaving. The Excuse
Form and Attached Proof(s) must be submitted after the training.
3.4. For all medical reasons, only a Medical Certificate is accepted.

4. Those who are not able to come for a certain training or event due to unforeseen
important and urgent family matters must produce a Relevant Letter personally to either
Brendan, Han Sheng, or Hoong Chen.
4.1. The Excuse Form and Attached Proof(s) must be submitted after the training or event.
However, an SMS must be sent to Hoong Chen before the training or event starts to
keep us informed of your absence.

5. Those who are excused by a doctor from CCA or Physical Activity must still turn up for
the training or event. You will be excused from all physical activity, but must still
participate in all non-physical forms of activity.
5.1. The Excuse Form and Attached Proof(s) must be submitted either before or during the
training or event itself.

6. How to fill in the Excuse Form


6.1. The Excuse Form must be submitted for excuse from training.
6.2. Cadets should fill in the Excuse Form themselves (if physically able to), and request the
relevant authority to endorse the form by signing at the “Endorsed by” section.
6.2.1. Relevant authorities must be appropriate to the reason for excuse. If it is a
personal matter, parents should sign the Excuse Form. If it is a school
competition, the school teacher-in-charge should sign the Excuse Form.
6.3. If the cadet is submitting an attached Medical Certificate, or if a relevant authority
issues an officially endorsed letter of excuse, the cadet need not provide another
endorsement in the “Endorsed by” section.
6.4. Cadets whose teachers-in-charge (for a competition, for example) have emailed the Red
Cross teachers must still request their teachers-in-charge to endorse their Excuse Form.
6.5. Appropriate proof of absence must be attached if applicable.
