INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES

1) The Examination will commence in APRIL / NOVEMBER every year.


2) Commencement of Examinations / Last date for remittance of fees and receipt of filled
in applications will be intimated separately to the Principals / HOD of Madurai Kamaraj
University.
3) Applications received without remittance of fees and received after the prescribed date
WILL BE Summarily REJECTED.
4) Applications Defective in any respect WILL BE REJECTED.
5) Hall – tickets will not be sent to the candidates direct or any account. Candidates must
obtain their Hall ticket from the principal three days before the commencement of the
examination, in the college.
6) The fees once paid will not be refunded or held over for subsequent examinations.
7) The Examination date and last date can be noted from the College / Dept.
8) After the publication of the results, all the candidates who have paid the prescribed
for the statement of marks should obtain the same from the Principal of the colleges
concerned / H.O.D. of Madurai Kamaraj University.
9) Candidates appearing for the FIRST TIME must forward the applications with a
Xerox copy of mark statements / provisional certificates or other satisfactory
evidence of having taken a degree in the university or of having taken a degree in
some other university accepted by the syndicate as equivalent thereto.
10) Candidates applying for the FIRST TIME shall pay the fees prescribed for all the papers
in that semester IRRESPECTIVE of the number of papers they wish to appear and send
the application through the principal of the college concerned.
11) Candidates will be permitted for paper wise appearance at the examination of subsequent
appearance only.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS WITH REGARD TO REGULATION

Note : (A) The first year arrear Paper shall be written in the Second year along with the
Prescribed papers for Second year. Second year arrear Papers shall be written along with other
Prescribed Papers in the subsequent first year. Two such additional appearances only shall be
allowed for each Paper. The Internal assessment marks already obtained by the candidate in
respect to theory paper shall be carried over for semester candidates.
(B)The Dissertation shall be submitted not later than the last day of the succeeding three
month from the last day of the second year external examination in the concerned discipline.
Extension for a further period of every six months following the above
Prescribed for the submission of Dissertation may be granted under special circumstances by the
Head of the Dept. on payment of Rs. 500 /-
(C) One more chance is given to write M.Phil., examination for those candidates who
have exhausted the prescribed number of chances; such candidates have to pay a penalty of
Rs.4000/- (Rupees four thousand only) in addition to the examination fees prescribed.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTION WITH REGARD TO PHOTOGRAPH

1. One copy of the photograph should be pasted in the space provided in the application
form and the other should be pasted in the space provided in the identification
certificate attached with this application. These two copies should be identical.
2. The candidate should sign his / her full signature along the top margin of the
photocopy. The signature on the photocopies should confirm in every detail to the
signature in the application.
3. The following person only should attest each copy of the candidate's photograph.

University or Principals of Oriental Title colleges. Principals of Matriculation Schools
Headmaster / Headmistress of Government recognized Higher Secondary Schools in this
State: Military Commissioned Officers: Members of the Syndicate, the Senate, the Academic
Council and the Boards of the Madurai Kamaraj University.
