Lexus Lopez Fires 675 to Win

Bergen County Girls Title
By Vince Albrecht
HACKENSACK, NJ - Lyndhurst sophomore Lexus Lopez show-
cased her considerable talent by coolly striking out in her third game
final frame to tally a 227 game, giving her the Bergen County Girls
Crown by a scant nine pins over Immaculate Heart Academy senior
Colleen Blake, 675-666.
Lexus, who tops the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference
[NJIC] girls with a 197 average, exploded with 278 in a league
match a few days later, reinforcing the speculation that she is indeed
blossoming into one of the finest female bowlers in North Jersey.
In the team event, decided with the Baker Game Format,
Immaculate Heart [IHA] captured its seventh consecutive Bergen
County Title, besting Ridgewood, 2-0 on the depth and strength of
its quintet, led by seniors Nicole Linder, Colleen Blake and junior
Taylor Strothmann. Ridgewood, which mastered Paramus Catholic
and Bergen Tech on its way to the finals, was led by southpaw
anchor Shelby Taylor.
Individual high sets were posted by Lexus Lopez [Lyndhurst] 675,
