Description

The SensaTank II console is a simple low-voltage panel that displays the liquid level within non-metallic tanks. Non-
metallic tank wall thickness can be up to 10mm (0.39") SensaTank II kits are available for 2, 3, or 4 tanks.

How It Works How to Operate the Console

• SensaTank II uses ultra-reliable Mirus™ Detector
Cells to measure each tank’s liquid level.
• The Detector Cells create a sensory field through
the tank wall. They sense the fluid level but never
contact the liquid.
• Press a round console button to check a tank’s
level.
• The lighted console shines progressively to show
the level of the selected tank.
• Release button to turn off console or to check
another tank.

 SENSATANK II™ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Mounting Locations and Requirements
1. Display Console —
• Clearance required: 0.5" D, 2.75” W, 2.25" H
(13mm D, 70mm W, 57mm H).
• 1-amp fused power source, ± 10.5 to 14.4 VDC.
• Solid connection to frame ground or battery negative
terminal.
• Display Console can be damaged by moisture — mount
ONLY in a dry location.
2. SensaTank Detector Cells —
• Not affected by moisture.
• Mount to exterior of non-metallic, plastic tanks.
Maximum tank wall thickness is up to 10mm (0.39").
• Tank distance from Display Console:
100 ft.(30.5 meters) max.
Cut Opening for Display Console
1. At chosen mounting location, cut a hole 2.75" W by 2.25" H
(70 by 57mm) for the Display Console.
2. Do not mount the Display Console until Detector Cell wiring
is complete.
SensaTank II Detector Cells
1. On each tank, find and mark FLAT points where the tank
VOLUME (not height) equals 1/3, 2/3, and Full. Maximum
distance between volume points is 15" (38cm), but the
points DO NOT need to be directly above each other.
2. At volume points, clean tank surface with isopropyl alcohol
(do not use rubbing alcohol because it contains lanolin).
3. Unwrap Detector Cell cable.
4. Detector Cells can be attached to volume points in any
order. One at a time, remove adhesive backing and stick
Detector Cells to FLAT points on tank wall.
IMPORTANT:
Detector Cells must fully contact the tank wall, so press hard
over entire Detector. Air gaps will negatively affect operation.
5. Repeat procedure to attach Detector Cells to volume
points on remaining tank(s).
6. Label each cable for the tank to which it is connected
(Fresh Water, Holding Tank, etc.).
Wiring and Assembly
IMPORTANT:
To ensure product performance, all wiring connections must
meet specifications below. Failure to follow instructions can
void product warranty.
• Added wire must be 16-gauge minimum.
• Make connections high and dry with waterproof crimp
connectors.
• Provide strain relief for all splices and plug connections.
1. If necessary, splice in extra color-coded wire (black & black/
white stripe) so Detector Cell cables reach Display
Console. Be sure each cable is labeled.
2. Pull cables through the Display Console cutout.
3. Splice all black/white striped wires to the Display Console
grey wire. Splice black wires to match color-coding shown
in drawing. SensaTank II kit may contain 2, 3, or 4 sets of
Detectors Cells.
4. If your kit contains modular plugs, be sure connections
match color-coding in the drawing.
5. To test wiring, place thumb over “+” on back of a Detector
Cell to activate it. Test console to be sure it is reading that
cell (see front of this sheet for operating instructions).
6. When wiring is complete, fit display console into hole and
use it as template to drill four 3/32" (2.3mm) pilot holes for
the mounting screws.
7. Use suitable screws to fasten display console to backing
surface.
