• In Mauritius, youth are not really aware


about the problem of HIV/AIDS despite
various awareness campaigns on HIV/AIDS

• HIV/ AIDS is an
international
problem and in
Mauritius with a
high prevalence,
about 1,8% on a
population of
1,2 million
persons in 2007.

• Through the media


(Newspapers,
Magazine, TV and
Internet) we target
to do shooting on a
short listed
personality in
Mauritius.

• The time frame was


determined for one
month, in the context
of the International
Aids Candlelight
Memorial in Mauritius,
in May 2007.

• The key target was firstly the youngsters,


and then the community

Association, PILS,

Chrysalide and the
artist community
were partners who
supports the projet.

MOBILISED?

• All the persons involved in the project


accepted to work on a voluntary basic.

• It was when all the


partners were
satisfied that we
decided to release
the campaign to
media. These
consultations were
very important to
the effectiveness of
the project.

WHAT RESULTS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED?

• On the 1st December


of 2009, Nicolas
Ritter, Director of the
association PILS said
that: “E si mo ti ena
Sida was one of the
most attractive and
efficient campaign on
HIV/AIDS in
Mauritius”.

• The campaign involved four men and


women.

• Yes. Overall feedback saying that this


campaign was a “coup de poing” against HIV
by its impact
