Why Six sigma? In these days of economic recession, globalization, reformation and liberalization, competition in any business is
getting tougher and tougher. Therefore, in order to sustain in this fast changing business environment, to delight customers and to
release products as quickly as possible without quality deterioration, competing organizations should make a paradigm shift in their
business approach. Customer orientation, Business objectives, Cost reduction, Increased profit, Shorter cycle time and better ROI are
the latest buzzwords. Precisely, Six Sigma helps you to achieve these objectives. Either you are in manufacturing or in Services
industry such as IT, six sigma can help you identify unnecessary steps and processes, bottlenecks in the flows and suggest alternatives
to improve the productivity.
It applies in all kinds of organizations where variation and waste exist, and every employee should be involved.
What is Six sigma? Six sigma is a data driven approach to remove defect in any process, product and services. The defect rate must
not exceed 3.4 defects/million opportunities. As it is a business initiative, it can be used to design new products/process/services and
re- engineer existing product/process/services. The success of six sigma is mainly based on short term as well as long term actual
data. It can be used for better decision making purpose. It is a proven, successful, tangible and structured methodology which applies
tools and techniques to address Business needs.
Faculty Profile
Wilfred Raju is a senior consultant, who aims to help the organization to achieve improvement in the performance of the business
processes which are having more problems/pains, reduce the cycle time of a process/service/product, delight the customers and
align the IT investments with Business objectives to maximize the ROI, reduce the TCO and increase the net profit of the business.
Wilfred has overall 24 years+(>15 yrs in IT) experience in IT Project/Program delivery management, Product development and
Consulting- Business Process Re-engineering, IT Portfolio Rationalization and Six sigma with a capability to start new Business
units/Practices, manage and operate as profitable centres.
As he has played roles like Delivery Head, Principal Consultant, Program Manager, Project Manager and EDP/MIS Manager in IT
companies like Mahindra Satyam, NatureSoft and Geosoft and non IT Company like Central Warehousing Corporation, he is having
expertise in multiple technologies- Microsoft, JAVA, Open source, Embedded and ERP and hands-on industry exposure with the clear
cut business processes in Human Resource Management, Banking, Insurance, Finance, Warehouse & Transport (Logistics)
Management; Import & Export Operation; Container Freight Station Management, Auto manufacturing & Port operational processes;
Trading, Retail, Shipping Management and Supply Chain Management.
He has conducted many Six sigma and Project Management training programmes for IT as well as non-IT employees.

Define Phase:

Understanding variability; Cycle time reduction; Improvement
areas/objectives; Brainstorming; Multivoting; Project charter; Critical to
quality (CTQ); Kano analysis; Project plan etc. Eligibility Criteria:
Measurement basics; Gathering Data; Types of data; Sampling; Check sheet; Target Audience:
Characteristics of data; Central tendency; Variation; Histogram; Continuous
data; Discrete data; Defects calculation; Minitab; Case study etc. Anyone with minimum two years industry
experience is eligible to attend:

Procedure to get Green Belt Certificate
Attend two days of Six Sigma training and then complete a process
Take away
improvement project within the next 4 months. Our faculty would assist you in i. Hand out of course materials
the project. Upon successful completion and submission of the project report, ii. Six sigma green belt certificate
you will receive the Green Belt Certificate from us. iii. Application knowledge on Six sigma
However, “certificate of participation” will be given to all participants at the
end of the 2-day workshop.
