HIBA SULAIMAN
I am currently a student of Mba and I am specializing in Human resource
Management. Working with Sun rise for a short period was a good experience where I
came to know that practical life differs from what we read in the books.
The heart of this organization is still very young but the aims are high. The
organization is striving to deliver the best it could. The support of wise and active
individuals, who wish to make efforts for the welfare of the society and the
environment, is always welcome.

DETAILS OF OUR WORK AT SUN RISE GREEN PAK
Our first day at Sun Rise Green Pakistan was spent while getting an orientation about
the organization. We were told about the new seed campaign that Sun rise is working
on these days. After getting a hold on to the activities of Sun rise we went to Pride
Public School where we had a meeting lined up with the Principal. But we were told
that the students have exams till mid April hence they would give us a date to conduct
the seed campaign right after the exams are over.
Our first day for the seed campaign was at the City Edgate School in Johar Town. The
teachers helped us gather the students of different grades one by one, around the green
belt in front of the school. Once they were all standing in the right directions, we
briefed them what we were going to teach them about. And then we taught them how
to place the seeds and later on a demonstration was made how to water them.

MEETING WITH PRINCIPAL AT PAKISTAN DEGREE
COLLEGE:-
After our attendance at the head office of Sun Rise Green Pak, we went to Pakistan
Degree College on Wahdat Road. We had a meeting with the Principal. After wait of
a few minutes we met her. We briefed her about our NGO and our seed campaign by
showing her the original certifications and snapshots which we carried in a file along
with us. She was convinced with our idea and allowed us to go ahead with the seed
campaign at their Masters campus on the 14th April, 2011.
The next day again after marking our attendance, we headed towards Standard
College for meeting with the Principal. We briefed him about our NGO and seed
campaign the same way and he allowed us to set a stall at both Girls and Boys campus
on 21st April, 2011.

We were given tasks to perform at the head office of Sun Rise Green Pak. We worked
on the website. We changed its outlay and also updated the snapshots with our City
Edgate seed campaign.
We were given the time to start our seed campaign at Pakistan Degree College at
10:00 Am. We reached there on time. Here we set up our stall with banners, our files
and the seeds. In college we decided to campaign different from the way we did at
schools. Hence the 3 of us, gathered students after their lectures, briefed them about
ourselves and our mission to make the country green. The response amongst the
female students was more rather than the male students..
We started the seed campaign at the Imperial school when the students were gathered
in the ground by first briefing our organization profile and its aim for the society.
Then the students varying from classes 1st -5th grade purchased the seeds from us
followed by a practical demonstration in the school lawn, practically explaining the
simple seeding process to the students. The response from the students of this school
was very good. The principal was very welcoming and she arranged tea and snacks
for our team later on. We also gave students green ribbons for promoting our cause of
making the country green.

SEED CAMPAIGN AT STANDARD COLLEGE (MASTER
CAMPUS):-
At Standard College, we had to campaign both girls and boys. And because their
campuses were separate, we split into 2 teams. Another volunteer group joined us too
and so we managed to campaign for more than 5 hours both to the female students as
well as the male students. As the interest already suggests, the response from female
students has been better than that of the male students. Yet our team has made efforts
for achieving our aim.

RECOMMENDATIONS:-
3. Natural alternative to hybrid seeds would add appeal to potential buyers who
are concerned related to health or re-growing of seeds.
5. Video CD’s of kitchen gardening techniques and tips should be sold as part of
the package. Most people own devices that can play these videos.
6. Laptop should be given to team for display of videos and slideshows on site.
9. Scheduling and planning should be done in more formal and organized way.
10. Every team member should be given provided with relevant information in a
timely fashion.
11. SMS notification in an organized way can be used for information sharing to
all team members.
12. The NGO should do promotion to make itself more attractive to potential VIS
members at university; it should better explain their vision and make its goals
standout.
13. NGO should focus on girls’ schools and colleges, as the product appeals more
to girls.
