shake and let the war begin!

Description:

From the battle field of ancient times to the high tech modern warfare of the present, what
has remained unchanged is the mankind’s lust for victory. This two day event will give you
the license to strut your passion in robotics and your valor at the battlefield, that makes you
go to the very limits and that’s what awaits you in the Gears of War. Showcase your skills in
making the deadliest machines for extreme battles with powerful competitors. Bring it On!

General Rules:

• A team of Four (4) members can register for this competition.

• Your fighting machine must fit in a volume of 18.75 ft3 with dimension 3 ft x 2.5 ft x 2.5
ft when at rest position.

• The weight of the robot must not exceed 22 kg.

• Robot can change its shape or go beyond the allowed dimensions after it starts
operation in the arena.

• The robot may fold and unfold itself to follow the dimension rules.

• Gas cylinders for any purpose are not allowed to be fitted on robot. Before using
pneumatic or hydraulic actuators teams must contact the organizers to get their
designs cleared/passed.

• Robots will be inspected for safety, reliability and conformity to the Rules before being
allowed to compete.

• Any attempt to exploit the above given rules in lieu of bad will may disqualify such a
team upon the decision of the administration of the event.
• The evaluator's decision will be final and cannot be challenged.

• SEE organizing committee reserves the right to amend any rules and regulations
without any prior notice.

On-Machine Weapons:

1. Weapons are allowed on your fighting machine.

2. The weapons allowed are:

a. pointed edged hammering weapons,
b. hammers,
c. flippers,
d. high –speed plungers
e. circular saws, carbon or steel cutting discs
f. on-robot metallic drills.

The above mentioned weapons are allowed if and only if they are meant for terminating the
opponent party’s robot/fighting machine. If weapons that are safe but are not listed above
must be cleared/passed by the organizers first.

3. The machine must not have any firing/shooting mechanism/burning fire-flames

mechanism.

All pyrotechnics, explosives, firearms, corrosives, liquids, electronic devices - e.g. radio
jamming, heat-guns and Tesla coils - are banned. Bayonets/Knifes also are not allowed.

4. Weapons must remain connected to the machine at all times during operation, i.e. if any
weapon is released out from the body of the robot either intentionally or unintentionally,
the robot will be immediately disqualified upon the decision of the judges panel.

5. Any weapon that can pose injury risk to the spectators and the roboteers is not allowed
e.g. loosely fitted spinning weapons etc. The teams which such a robot will be asked to
remove such a weapon before the contest. If they fail to remove the weapon, the team will
be disqualified.

6. Every robot will go under a test before the contest for testing the stability of the machine.
If, any robot that is dangerously unstable, will not be allowed to participate until or unless
the team removes the fault in the robot.
7. Any attempt to exploit the above given rules in lieu of bad will may disqualify such a team
upon the decision of the administration of the event.

Power Management / Battery Sources:

1. Robot is allowed to take power from a DC source with a rating not more than 48 volts.

2. Any type of DC/DC step-up converter is not allowed.

3. Only dry-type sealed batteries are allowed i.e. Li-Poly, Ni-MH, Li-ion, and other
maintenance free sealed packed batteries.

4. Batteries containing liquid that can be spilled out during normal operation are not
allowed.

5. Any attempt to exploit the above given rules in lieu of bad will may disqualify such a team
upon the decision of the administration of the event.

Controlling Mechanism:

2. The robot can be joystick-controlled or computer-controlled.

3. Teams must be able to modify the addresses, frequency crystals etc. of their wireless
modules at the spot for curing any sort of interference that may occur between several
robots.

4. If teams are unable to remove the interference, their robot will not be allowed to enter
the arena for the contest.

5. On the other hand, teams will be given time to resolve their interference issues a day
before the competition.
