SINOPSIS:
This course elaborates on the study of civilisation that encompasses an introduction to civilisation studies;
interaction among various civilisation in Malaysian context (Malay, Chinese and Indian); the history, world
view and contribution of Islamic civilisation; Malay civilisation, Indian civilisation and Chinese civilisation.
This course also promotes dialogue among civilisations to develop positive thinking and attitude among
young generation in this country. At the same time it will help the students to understand and appreciate
their own civilisation with full respect to others civilisation.

NAMA KURSUS: UW00102 ETHNIC RELATIONS (HUBUNGAN ETNIK)

SINOPSIS:
This course focuses on the discussion on the efforts made to maintain harmony through national
integration among multiethnic and culture in Malaysia. It focuses on the history and background of the
multiethnic society, basic concepts in ethnic relations which are related to society, culture and
togetherness; the history of development of ethnic relations as well as the challenges of cultural
pluralization towards social understanding in Malaysia, the Constitution of Malaysia in ethnic relations
concepts and also the efforts to create Malaysian nation according to the model of Malaysian society as
well as the relations among ASEAN regions. In addition, the course also focuses on the understanding of
ethnic relations from the Islamic perspective, namely the management of global challenges in cultural
and ethnic relations at the Malaysian and Asian levels.

NAMA KURSUS: UB00102 COMMUNICATIVE ENGLISH GRAMMAR

SINOPSIS:
This course aims to help students to understand and practice English Grammar within communicative
contexts. Grammatical structures will be taught in natural contexts, such as engaging in conversations
and reading articles. To practise both FORM and MEANING of these grammatical structures, students will
be provided with numerous and varied controlled exercises including identifying common grammatical
errors and correcting them. In addition, students will be encouraged to use the structures freely and
creatively in motivating open-ended communicative activities. In order to incorporate the four major
language skills tested in MUET, an integrated skills approach is emphasised through activities and
assessments that require students to speak, read and write effectively as well as to be able to respond
appropriately to audio output.

NAMA KURSUS: UB00202 ORAL COMMUNICATION IN ENGLISH

SINOPSIS:
The main aim of this course is to improve students’ oral communication skills in the English Language.
Students are exposed to the principles and techniques of effective oral integration. They are also
introduced to specific exercises in order to improve their English Language pronunciation. In addition,
students are taught effective strategies in communication and appropriate communicative skills to enable
them to speak spontaneously and fluently. They are given the opportunities to interact in real life
situations through language activities such as discussions, simulations and role plays. Moreover, they are
also exposed to public speaking techniques and principles through exercises to develop their confidence
and fluency in the language.

NAMA KURSUS: UB00402 ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC READING AND WRITING

SINOPSIS:
This module aims to equip students with the advanced skills needed for academic reading and writing. A
variety of texts from a range of disciplines will be used as materials in teaching this module. Students will
be taught to use strategies that will be useful to them when reading academic texts related to their main
course of study. With regard to academic writing strategies, they will be taught to introduce their essays
in an arresting way, to form and arrange ideas sequentially, develop and support their own opinions, and
to reiterate their main points concisely when concluding. In short, students will be taught to be effective
academic writers.

SINOPSIS:
This course consisted of introduction to the field of management and organization, theory of

SINOPSIS:
This course will introduce the basic and practical concepts pertaining to the body of knowledge known as
work ethics for professionals. This course would also discussed all topics relevant to the professional
working scenario such as the universal ethics principles, professional ethics, ethical aspects from main
religious viewpoints, the discussion and the evaluation of ethics in the face of selected issues, and

SINOPSIS:
This course aims to prepare students with skills and confidence to cope with their studies at tertiary level.
It will help students to create and expand their techniques and strategies of studying in order to meet
their needs in a higher learning institution. Students will also be able to set their own goal and learn
independently. This course consists of 3 parts: (i) Learning Strategies; (ii) Note-taking & Note-making
Skills; and (iii) Techniques and Use of Graphic Organizers. It also provides students with opportunities to

SINOPSIS:
Kursus ini membincangkan secara kritis tentang falsafah dan pendidikan dengan menganalisisnya dalam
konteks perkembangan pendidikan di Malaysia. Kursus ini juga meninjau dan membincangkan
perkembangan pendidikan negara sebagai satu kesinambungan dan keunggulan yang berterusan dengan
berlandaskan interaksi dan pemikiran yang telah berlaku dalam proses pembangunan negara. Falsafah,
dasar-dasar, kurikulum dan peraturan dalam pendidikan juga diberi penekanan bagi membolehkan para
pelajar memperoleh pengetahuan dan kemahiran serta pemupukan sikap dalam melaksanakan
tanggungjawab secara berkesan dalam batasan profesion perguruan.
(The course critically discusses the philosophy and education by analyzing it in the context of the
development of education in Malaysia. This course also explores and discusses the development of
national education as a continuum and continuous ideal based on the interaction and thoughts which
have taken place in the country’s developmental process. Philosophy, policies, curriculum and regulations

sesuai, (d) membina, memilih dan mengguna alat yang sesuai termasuk alat multi-media dalam proses
pengajaran pembelajaran; (e) membina, memilih dan mengguna alat serta kaedah penilaian yang sesuai
untuk mengukur dan menaksir hasil pembelajaran. Pelajar akan memperkembangkan kemahiran

SINOPSIS:
Kursus ini ialah sambungan kursus EDU 3046 yang lalu. Ia akan mengukuhkan lagi kemahiran pelajar
merancang dan melaksanakan pengajaran melalui pembentangan dan pengajaran mikro, merangkumi
aspek-aspek utama berikut: (a) pernyataan objektif, (b) perancangan kurikulum: penyusunan kandungan
dan bahan pengajaran; (c) pendekatan, kaedah dan teknik pengajaran yang sesuai, (d) penggunaan
media dan teknologi dalam proses pengajaran pembelajaran; (e) membina, memilih, mengguna alat dan
kaedah penilaian yang sesuai untuk mengukur serta menaksir hasil pembelajaran. Pelajar akan dibimbing
berkaitan prosedur dan kaedah dalam penyelidikan tindakan yang akan membolehkan mereka
mengaplikasikannya semasa menjalani latihan mengajar dalam semester 7.
(This course is a continuation of EDU3046. It will further strengthen the students, skills in lesson
preparation and teaching, through presentation and micro-teaching, including the following major
aspects: (a) stating teaching objectives; (b) selecting and planning of curricular materials and sequence
of lessons; (c) selecting appropriate teaching methods and techniques, including (d) preparing the use of
appropriate teaching-learning technology; (e) selecting and preparing appropriate tools and methods to
evaluate learning outcomes. Students will also be guided on procedures and methods in Action Research,
so that they can apply them when they do their action research during Teaching Practice in Semester 7.)

konsep keperluan khas dan siapakah yang mengalami keperluan khas. Penentuan normal dan tidak
normal dalam masyarakat akan diberi tumpuan. Kursus ini membincangkan pendidikan khas sebagi
lanjutan dari sistem pendidikan biasa.
(The aim of this course is to assist teachers understands special needs and high risk children of various
categories. Amongst these categories are physical, visual and hearing impairments, intellectually
challenge, communication and behavioral problems, learning difficulties and gifted. This course intends to
introduce the basics in special education, the concept of special needs and who have special needs. The
terms normal and abnormal based on the community perception would be given special attentions. This

provide students with the practice and exposure to teach English confidently in the future.

Kursus ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan guru sekolah rendah dengan kefahaman yang asas terhadap

pergerakan asas dan aktiviti permainan berkumpulan sesuai dengan pelajar sekolah rendah. Di samping

(This course analyses acts which are related to early childhood education. It also exposes students to

SYNOPSIS:
The objective of the course is to build strong theories and foundation of the language using content-based
materials related to their academic settings. This integrates the four language skills of listening, speaking,
reading and writing.

SINOPSIS:
Kursus ini menekankan konsep asas dalam teori perkembangan sosioemosi kanak-kanak, kemahiran
sosial, konsep kendiri, perspektif kepelbagaian individu; perapatan dan kesannya terhadap
perkembangan emosi dan sosial. Penekanan juga diberi dari aspek pengurusan sosioemosi dalam konteks
Malaysia dan perkembangan awal sosial, serta strategi mengawal emosi, kemahiran sosial dan kemahiran
pengesanan sosioemosi.
(The course stresses on the basic concepts of socio-emotional developmental theories, development of
children’s social skills, development of self-concept, perspective of individual diversity, friendship,
attachment and its effects. It also stresses on the awareness of socio emotional in Malaysian context,
emotional regulation, social skills development and socio emotional assessment skills).

kanak-kanak. Ia meliputi teori pergerakan; konsep dan prinsip asas pergerakan serta koordinasi dari
aspek pergerakan lokomotor, pergerakan manipulatif dan pergerakan bukan lokomotor dengan
mengambil kira konsep ruang, konsep daya dan konsep perhubungan tubuh dengan pergerakan.
(This course focuses on philosophies, movement objectives, and play in early childhood education. It
covers introduction to movement theory; concept and principle of basic movement and coordination
aspect of locomotors movement, manipulation movement, and non locomotors movement with
consideration of spatial and force concept and body relation concept).

(The course introduces theories of learning mathematics, especially children ages 5 – 6. Approaches to
the teaching of various major topics in mathematics at children level. It will develop teachers’ ability to
choose appropriate methods and plan strategies to teach math with emphasis on understanding concepts
and problem-solving process. The course includes guidelines on appropriate classroom math activities,
especially play and games, and good practice).
