Dear Student,

Welcome to the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) fraternity for the year 2009–10. We invite
your attention to the following Instructions.

1. Roll Number of the students will be displayed on University website www.mu.ac.in/Idol by the
first week of December, 2009 onwards. Students are requested to note down their roll numbers
on Identity card and use it for further ready reference.

2. If you have joined the F.Y.B.A./F.Y.B.COM. Course of the IDOL on the basis of the Mark sheet of
passing the HSC Examination from any of the HSC Board in the State of Maharashtra, you are
required to submit the ORIGINAL PASSING CERTIFICATE OF H.S.C. EXAMINATION (Board
certificate) along with one attested Xerox Copy and Copy of the Identity Card, to IDOL office for
confirmation of admission.

3. If you have joined on the basis of Provisional Statement of Eligibility, you are requested to
submit (a) Mark sheet (b) Passing Certificate (c) Migration Certificate in original with one Xerox
copy duly attested and Xerox copy of the Identity card issued by IDOL.

N.B. You have to submit the above – mentioned documents to IDOL Office, Room No. 7,
Ground Floor, ON OR BEFORE 27th March, 2010 without fail. Please note that if you fail to
submit the relevant documents as mentioned in 2 or 3 above, you may not be allowed to
appear for the ensuing examination to be held in FIRST HALF OF 2010.

4. Personal Contact Programme (Guidance Lecture) has already started as per dates prescribed in
Admission Prospectus of IDOL. (Please refer chapter 6.1) and as per information uploaded on
University web site. Lectures are not compulsory. However if you are interested you can attend
at any center convenient to you.

5. The tentative dates of commencement of examinations are given here :-

1. T.Y.B.A : March, 2010

2. T.Y.B.Com : March, 2010
3. F.Y.B.A : 1st week of April, 2010
4. S.Y.B.A : 1st week of April, 2010
5. F.Y.B.Com : 1st week of April, 2010
6. S.Y.B.Com : 1st week of April, 2010
The exact dates will be put on website in the month of January/February, 2010.

6. INFORMATION ONLY FOR F.Y.B.A / B.Com. / S.Y.B.A. / B.Com. :

Your Hall Ticket for the respective examination will not be delivered to your residential
address. You are required to approach IDOL Examination Unit, Room No. 211, Second Floor
along with one latest photograph, Identity Card issued by Institute and original fee receipt for
issuance of your Hall Tickets 8 days before the date of commencement of respective
examination.

7. You may be interested in other facilities being provided by the Institute of Distance and Open
Learning such as :

a) Institute of Distance and Open Learning. Reading Room and Library at the IDOL. Building at
Vidyanagari and Reading Room No. 203 at Vidyapeeth Vidyarthi Bhavan, Ground Floor, ‘B’
Road, Churchgate, Mumbai – 400 020, which remains open on Sundays & Holidays except
2nd & 4th Mondays two months before the commencement of your respective
examination.
b) The Audio-Video Center Located in Room No. 205 of the IDOL. Building at Vidyanagari will
remain open from 11.00 to 4.00 p.m. on all working days.
c) University of Mumbai website ‘http.www.mu.ac.in/Idol’ and the link of the Institute of
Distance and Open Learning. For relevant information concerning details of the Examinations
and other matters, from time to time are available in the University website.
