Lead Project Architect - Global design, architectural, engineering and program management firm for
multi-unit restaurant and "Big Box" brands.
Led an international studio team of 5 architects and engineers to prepare 6 Exterior Brand Review
packages for Wal-Mart; accepted and approved at first submittal to client;
Collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams to produce designs for two 290,000 SF Wal-Mart store
remodels within client budget and schedule.

LMHT Associates/National Restaurant Designers, Durham, North Carolina 2004 – 2009

Project Architect - Architectural engineering firm specializing in restaurant, retail, office and residential
projects.

Supervised production of contract documents for over 400 projects (permit sets and construction
bid packages, multiple states). Site adapts and up-fits ranged from 3,000 to 35,000 SF, with no
liability claims, on time and within budget.
Presented latest building programs at 2 Golden Corral and 3 IHOP franchisee conventions. End
result- 90% client satisfaction through repeat business.
Prepared Green Initiative documentation for IHOP with specific value engineering goals and
recommended practical LEED certification strategies- representing potential savings up to $10,000

Airoom Homewalk: Developed and presented massing options, tenant concept sketches and

Authored initial Site Assessment Due Diligence Report for Chipotle Mexican Grill. Nine reports
created in a two month period saved the client over 30% costs.
Streamlined Boston Market Prototype construction document sets by determining how to leverage
ACAD 2002 ADT3.3, reducing time in the preparation of these documents by 35%.
Lead Architect - Standards Studio 2000 – 2001
Developed and presented traditional building program to new Regional Managers at “McStart”
Class at Hamburger University. Result: Restaurant Design Group chosen as the Architect of
Record 98% of the time for the East Division and 76% of the time for the West Division, exceeding
expectations.

Liaison between Design Group and Global Safety Department for Play Places; provided technical
support in OSHA fall hazard issues, site layouts and ADA compliance to of reduce safety claims.

Developed design pallet, interior finish selection and construction documents for Levi’s “Personal
Pair”- an innovative concept store allowing clients to be fitted for custom sized jeans.
Developed initial and final design for 20 Brothers Gourmet ,12 Timberland, 12 Ulta3 , 8 Eddie Bauer
and 2 Baskin locations for tenant improvement documents ranging from 3,000- 5,000 SF. Ensured
compliance with both building code and developer’s stringent exterior image and signage criteria.

MONTGOMERY WARD, Chicago, Illinois 1987 – 1994

Production Coordinator (Intern Architect; ARE requirement) - Retail Store Planning Department.

Acquisition Surveys- Surveyed thirteen retail locations to assess the existing conditions of the
properties and determine the feasibility for future remodeling. Elements documented included walls,
ceilings, site conditions and Electrical/HVAC conditions.
Retail Stores and Auto Express: Fixture plans (ceiling/lighting layouts) for over 40 stores.

R. H. CHOU, INC., Kenilworth, Illinois 1984 – 1986

Design & Production Assistant (Intern Architect; ARE requirement) - Design Build Architectural Firm
specializing in custom residential construction.
Developed construction documents converting the Cove School historic mansion in Evanston, into
separate residential units. Eight additional townhomes were designed on same parcel as part of the
urban in-fill project.
Presented Cove School designs to Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals- with specific solutions to the
preservation of the property's wrought iron fence said to have hailed from the 1893 Columbian
exposition held in Chicago.
