Operation and Setup

Description
Power On/Off
Unit is powered on by connecting the power cable and power off by disconnecting
power cable
Control Interface
The unit maybe connected directly to a PC through and Ethernet crossover cable.
When directly connected to a PC the unit must be setup using a static IP address a
nd the PC must also be configured with a static IP address
address.

1
Network Connection Setting

1.Check your network connection for Ethernet port which was connected to laptop.
2. Set PC static IP address to “192.168.5.1”
• Please make sure yyou are able to ping
p g scanner IP address: 192.168.5.2
• Ping reply messages represent connection has been established

2
Port Setting

1. Check Scanner button

2. Click Alias Setting button
3. Type Interface name and select Scanner Type
* Available scanner List will be shown in List box when y
you click “Find Scanner” button
4. Add your Interface name on Alias list
5. Click “OK” button and return to Port setting window.

3
New Task

1. If Scanner H/W is successfully synchronized with XCAL-LTE then you can

see “New Task” button become to “Enable” status

* “Scanner 1” section on the left bottom side of XCAL main window would changed
g its color to Blue.

2. Click “New Task” button

4
RF Setting

1. Select “Protocol” , “Task Type”, “Band

2. Select “Channels to Scan”

You can easily convert Channel index to actual

Frequency(Hz) via “Channel to Freq. Converter”

5
Data Measurement Setting

1. Select “Data Measurement” tab

2. Set “Measurement Enable” list

3. Set “Scan Configuration”

4. Set “PSCH Detect Threshold”

5. Set “SSCH Detect Threshold”

6. Set “RS Detect Threshold”

Scanner parameters

Measurement Enable:
RS: RSRP (dBm), RSRQ (dB) – When this box is checked the Reference Signal Received Power and Reference Signal Rec
eived Quality will be included in the measurement

Detection Mode
D i M d
ASYNC – Detection is attempted without attempting to synchronizing to the downlink signal
SYNC – Detection is performed following the synchronization of the downlink signal to a known standard such as GPS
Robust – When working in an environment with increased noise and interference, Robust mode will improve
detection by performing a more detailed analysis of the signal.  Robust mode is slower than ASYNC or the SYNC

Modes.

Number of TX Antennas – Specifies the number of transmit antennas being used by the base station
Observation to Average – The number of observations that must be detected before reporting the channel.

PSCH Detect Threshold – The signal level below which the Primary Synchronization Channel (PSCH) decoded data is not retu
rned.  This threshold is enabled when Measurement Enable, SCH is selected, otherwise it has no effect. The default value
for this setting is – 10dB

SSCH Detect Threshold – The signal level below which the Secondary Synchronization Channel (SSCH) decode data is not ret
urned.  This threshold is enabled when Measurement Enable, SCH is selected, otherwise it has no effect.  The default value
is ‐6 dB

RS Detect Threshold
RS Detect Threshold – The signal level below which the RS decoded data is not returned.  This threshold is enabled when M
The signal level below which the RS decoded data is not returned This threshold is enabled when M
easurement Enable, RS is selected, otherwise it has no effect.  The default value for this setting is ‐20 dB.

7
PCI Setup

1. Select “PCI” tab

2. Set “Filtering” section

TopN Value only available when you select your

filtering mode to “TopN”

8
PCI Setup

Filtering Mode – Selects the type of filtering to be used for decoding.  TopN returns up to N sets of data

where N is the number entered in the TopN Value field.

TopN Value – The maximum number of data sets that will be returned.  The largest entry is 127.

PCI – Allows you to select the Physical‐Layer Cell Identity (PCI)

PCI Group – Allows you to select the PCI Group.

Count – The number of pairs in the unlabeled search field

Unlabeled field – This field contains the PCI/PCI Group pairs that will be searched for during the survey.  Only
data on these pairs will be returned.  This field can have a maximum of 127 pairs.

Save/Load Setting

1. You can save/load your setting at any Tabs you

choose.
2. “Save” setting will save whole settings in “RF”, “
Data Measurement”,, “PCI Setup” p tab/
3. To apply whole settings, Click “OK” button

10
Start Scan

1. Click “Play” Icon to start measurement

* To stop measurement and terminate task, click “Stop” Icon and “Exit” button
