Q: Processos de eRecovery

A: Al iniciar en la pantalla de Acer oprima la tecla de "ALT+F10" para entrar al modo de Erecovery.

Al entrar al Erecovery la contraseña por default es 000000 (seis ceros)

En el modo de Erecovery se puede cambiar la contraseña que por default ha sido asignada de

fábrica. La unidad puede reinstalar el sistema operativo de una partición fantasma, copia imagen en

su disco duro o de los discos de recuperación que fueron enviados de fabrica (discos de fabrica fueron enviados solo en algunas unidades). También es posible reinstalar el sistema operativo de los discos de recuperación creados con el eRecovery.

Existen tres maneras de reinstalar el sistema operativo.

Con el "ALT+F10" al bootear o dentro de Windows.

Al iniciar la unidad por primera vez automáticamentele pide que queme los discosde

recuperación los cuales puedes ser usados para la reinstalar el sistema operativo. Abriendo el Acer eManager y haciendo doble clic en eRecovery.

Características de eRecovery

Cuando el disco duro ha sido formateado por completo pierde la función del Erecovery y el

(ALT+F10)

Cuando se reinstala el sistema operativo de los discos que creo con el Erecovery, la función

de crear un a copia imagen se pierden. Si cualquier archivo de Windows o de la partición de PQService es borrado o corrompido se tendrá que reinstalar el sistema operativo.

It is an additional layer of protection which some studios have placed on select REGION 1 DVDs to prevent them from playing on region-free or multi-region drives.

How does this affect my computer?

RCE Region 1 DVDs will prevent DVD drives from playing on region-free or multi-region drives.

Does RCE affect Multi-Region drives?

Unfortunately Multi-Region drives will be affected by RCE discs, due to them being region-free or multi-regional drives. Components such as; DVD drives on Notebooks and desktops will be affected by this DVD regional protection.

The regional code on a DVD ROM can be changed at least 4 times; Acer's DVD drive will support the following regional codes.

  • 1. Region 1: U.S., Canada, U.S. Territories

  • 2. Region 2: Japan, Europe, South Africa, and Middle East (including Egypt)

our new Acer computer has been delivered to you with a whole suite of the Acer Empowering Technology Framework and Acer applications tools. However, if your unit is equipped with 256MB of main memory, it may impact your system performance. If you would like to enhance performance, you can uninstall some of the optional Acer application tools, by following the steps outlined below. Removing these features will not impact the functionality of the product.

Note: Please DO NOT remove Acer Empowering Framework and Acer eRecovery Management. It will disable your disk to disk recovery function.

  • 1. Launch Add or Remove Program under Control Panel.

  • 2. Select "Acer ePerformance Management" and click "Change/Remove"

  • 3. When prompted, click "OK" to continue uninstall process.

  • 4. Select "Acer ePower Management" and click "Change/Remove"

  • 5. When prompted, click "OK" to continue uninstall process.

  • 6. Select "Acer ePresentation Management" and click "Change/Remove"

  • 7. When prompted, click "OK" to continue uninstall process.

If you add additional memory in the future, you can follow the steps outlined below to install some of the applications again.

  • 1. Launch Acer Empowering Technology and select "Acer eRecovery Management."

  • 2. Select "Reinstall application/drivers" from the Acer eRecovery Management menu

  • 3. Click "Install" in the Autorun window.

  • 4. Select Windows XP > Utility > Empowering Tech. from the left page and follow the onscreen instructions to install the Acer Empowering Technology applications.

Q: How to locate a notebook serial number

A: The serial number is located on the bottom of the notebook on a white label and is 22 characters long. Alternatively, the serial number may be found in the notebook's BIOS which can be accessed by tapping the F2 key during POST.

: Camera Usage Instructions A:

For use with systems including an Acer Orbicam, CrystalEye, or other factory installed camera.

Taking still pictures

  • 1. Double click the Orbicam Icon to start the program, which will open the main application screen.

  • 2. Set the configuration choices by clicking on the "gears" icon, which should open an additional window that slides out. Clickthe tabs and select the options for the desired settings. By default, still pictures will be sent to the "Pictures" folder.

  • 3. Set the resolution for still pictures by pressing the arrow under the main display. A drop down menu should appear with the available resolutions. Larger resolutions will result in larger file sizes.

  • 4. To take a picture, align the subject in front of the camera so that the display appears in the window as desired. Click Take Photo.

  • 5. The pictures should appear along the bottom of the application window if the Gallery view is enabled.

For Windows XP:

  • 1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.

  • 2. In the Control Panel, click on "Switch to Classic View" (if available) in the upper left corner.

  • 3. While in Classic View double click on Sounds and Audio Devices.

  • 4. In the Sound and Audio Devices Properties, click on the Voice tab.

  • 5. In the Voice Tab, any microphones the system would have will be listed below.

  • 1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.

  • 2. In the Control Panel, click on Classic View in the upper left corner.

How to check the amount of installed memory or RAM in BIOS

To check the amount of installed memory (RAM):

  • 1. Turn the unit on. At the Acer Splashscreen, tap the F2 key to access the BIOS.

  • 2. In BIOS, use the right arrow key to go to the Main tab.

  • 3. On the Main tab, the amount of installed memory will be displayed near Extended Memory.
