The pestilence I am
referring to is a breathing
space that seems to over-
flow with ignorant words,
phrases and sayings that have become the
unfortunate norm among the adolescent
masses. Some of the more common phrases
include calling something “gay” to express
disapproval as well as calling other people
“retarded” or “faggots” if they happen to do
something foolish in the eyes of another per-
son.
The most terrifying aspect of this dilemma
stems from its considerable prevalence
among the population, with the vast majority
of the offenders falling under the category of
male adolescents. It only takes one or two
people who consistently use such phrases for
the seeds of ignorance to be planted. As long
as it is deemed socially acceptable amongst
that group of people, the usage will increase
exponentially and only exacerbate this tragic
societal fault.
Many people guilty of this appalling attrib-
