NHPC Limited Signs MoU with Ministry of Power

NHPC Limited has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the


Ministry of Power, Government of India for the year 2011-12 as a commitment to
the Government of India to achieve targets for various financial, dynamic, sector
specific and enterprise specific parameters. The MOU was signed on 25.03.2011
by Shri P. Uma Shankar, Secretary (Power), Govt. of India and Shri A.B.L.
Srivastava, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC in the presence of senior
officers of the Ministry of Power and NHPC.

In order to achieve the excellent rating for 2011-12, a challenging target to


generate 18500 Million Unit (MU) of energy has been set for the Company as
against 18000 MU set for last year. The Gross Sales has been kept as `3931.89
crore as against ` 3694.40 crore kept for corresponding previous year.

More weightage (50% of Project Implementation Parameters) has been assigned


to projects getting commissioned in 2011-12 (Nimmo Bazgo, Chutak, Chamera-
III & Uri – II) to ensure timely commissioning of these projects. R&D has been
assigned 5% of the total weightage. New parameters w.r.t. corporate governance
& sustainable development initiatives with 5% weightage have also been
incorporated in MOU 2011-12.

NHPC conferred with CIDC Vishwakarma Award 2011

NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company and a ‘Mini Ratna’


Category-I Enterprise of the Government of India has been conferred with the
‘CIDC Vishwakarma Award 2011’ under the category for ‘Social Responsibility’ at
the 3rd CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2011 held at New Delhi on March 7th, 2011.
Shri M.S.J. Sinha, General Manager (HR), NHPC received the award on behalf
of NHPC at a glittering ceremony organized on the occasion. The award which
has been instituted by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC)
recognizes the best practices adopted by NHPC for ‘Social Responsibility’ and its
overall contribution to the Indian construction industry.

Shri A.B.L. Srivastava, Director (Finance) and CMD, NHPC conferred with ICAI’s
Special Achiever Award 2010
Shri A.B.L. Srivastava, Director (Finance) and Chairman & Managing Director,
NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company and a ‘Mini Ratna’
Category-I Enterprise of the Government of India has been awarded the ‘ICAI
2010 - Special Achiever Award’. This prestigious award which has been conferred
by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recognizes Shri
Srivastava’s exceptional performance and achievements in his field. Shri Digvijai
Nath, Executive Director, NHPC Region-III, received the award on behalf of Shri
Srivastava from Shri Amarjit Chopra, President, ICAI at a glittering function held
recently at Science City, Kolkata in the presence of more than 2500 eminent
finance professionals from across the country.

NHPC has been awarded First Prize for 2008-09 and Second Prize for 2009-10 for
outstanding work in implementation of Rajbhasha amongst Power Sector Utilities. The
“NTPC Rajbhasha Shield” and Citation was received from Shri Sushilkumar Shinde,
Hon’ble Union Minister of Power by Shri R.S.Mina, Director (Personnel) at Coorg,
Karnataka.

NHPC Limited awarded ‘Performance Excellence Award’ by Indian Institution of


Industrial Engineering

NHPC Limited, India’s premier Hydro Power ‘Mini Ratna’ company of the
Government of India has been conferred with the ‘Performance Excellence Award’ by the
Mumbai-based Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE) at Manali on 22.5.09. The
award was presented to Shri S. K. Garg, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC by Ms.
Asha Swarup, Chief Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh during the 12th CEOs
Conference organized by IIIE at Manali from 22nd to 25th May 2009.

NHPC Limited has been conferred with this award in recognition of its excellence in
every sphere of operation starting from conceptualization to commissioning of Hydro Power
Projects for the year 2007-08. It may be mentioned here that NHPC Power stations have
generated 16690 MUs of electricity in the year 2008-09 thereby registering an increase of
12.7% in comparison to the previous year.

National Energy Conservation Award 2009 to NHPC

NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydro power ‘Mini Ratna’ Category-I Company of the Government
of India has been conferred Second Prize in the ‘Office Buildings Sector’ for the year 2009 under
the National Energy Conservation Awards. Shri S.K. Garg, CMD, NHPC received the award from
Shri Sushilkumar Shinde Hon’ble Union Minister of Power in the presence of Shri Bharatsinh
Solanki, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power and Shri Harishankar Brahma, Secretary
(Power), Government of India at a glittering function held at Vigyan Bhavan to mark the occasion
of National Energy Conservation Day on 14.12.09. The award recognizes NHPC’s commendable
efforts in Electricity Saving at its Corporate Office building through usage of Energy Saving
Appliances and Proper Power Management.

Trainee Officer Full time Regular BE/B.Tech. (Environment Engineering)/ M.Sc.
(Environment) (Environmental Science) from recognized Indian University / Institute
approved by AICTE, with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.
Desirable: MSW/MBA (Rural Management)
Trainee Officer Full time Regular Post Graduate Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma of two
(Public Relations) years duration in Communication/ Mass Communication/ Journalism

AGE LIMIT:

Upper age limit for all above posts is 30 years as on 01.10.2008.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

NHPC offers one of the best pay packages in the industry. Selected candidates will be placed in
the pay scale of Rs. 8600 – 14600 (IDA) (E-2) at the basic pay of Rs. 8600/- during one year
training. On successful completion of the training period they will be placed as Engineer / Officer
in the pay scale of Rs. 10750 – 16750 (IDA) (E-2A) with probation period of one year.

Besides basic pay, candidates will also be paid Industrial Dearness Allowance. Other Allowances
and Benefits such as Housing or HRA, Conveyance reimbursement, LTC, Leave encashment,
Gratuity, EPF, Group Insurance, Employees’ Pension, Medical reimbursement, Children
Education Expenditure and News paper / Magazine Allowance and Special Compensatory
Allowance etc will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time.

The pay scales are due for revision with effect from 01.01.2007.

PLACEMENT:

Candidates will be placed, in various parts of the country or abroad, at Projects / Power Stations/
Offices including joint ventures & subsidiary companies of NHPC.
SELECTION PROCESS:

Eligible candidates will have to appear for written test. List of successful candidates for interview
will be made available at www.nhpcindia.com & will also be e-mailed to such candidates. All
short listed candidates will have to appear for Personal Interview. The final list of selected
candidates being offered “Offer of Appointment” will be made available online.

TEST CENTERS:

The selection test will be held in 18 cities* as mentioned in the online Application system.
Candidates have to choose one city as Test Center and no change in any circumstances will be
considered subsequently. However, NHPC reserves the right to cancel or add any Center
depending on the response of the candidates for that area / Center. Admission to the test will
be on production of Admit Card, which is to be downloaded only from the site by
candidates and should have a duly attested pass port size photograph affixed to it.

ABOUT WRITTEN TEST:

Candidates will have choice for appearing in the test in Hindi or English. The test duration will be
3 hours and in three parts i.e. Part –I of 140 multiple-choice questions in the concerned discipline,
Part –II of 30 multiple-choice questions on General Awareness and Part-III of 30 multiple-choice
questions on Reasoning.

RESERVATIONS AND RELAXATIONS:

01 Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / Physically Handicapped will be as per the Govt. norms &
directives.

02 No registration fee will be charged from SC / ST / PH category candidates.

03 All SC, ST and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates with minimum 50% marks in
qualifying examination are eligible for appearing in the test.

04 The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST, 3 years for OBC. It is relaxable by
10 years for PH- General, 13 years for PH-OBC and 15 years for PH-SC/ST candidates.

05 Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been
domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.

06 SC/ST candidates appearing for written test shall be reimbursed single to & fro 2 nd class
rail /ordinary bus fare by the shortest route limited to the nearest examination center to
the mailing address mentioned in their application form on production of proof.

SERVICE AGREEMENT BOND:

The selected candidates of General and OBC category will be required to execute a service
agreement bond of Rs. 2.50 lacs and for SC/ST Rs. 1.25 lacs to successfully complete a
minimum period of four years of service in the corporation including the period spent on training.

www.nhpcindia.com with valid e-mail ID. General and OBC category candidates are required to
pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 250/- through Demand Draft only in favour of
“NHPC Limited” payable at Faridabad / New Delhi. No other mode of payment would be
accepted. Candidates can visit the online registration site from 1300 hours of 27th Oct. 2008 to
midnight of 28th Nov. 2008.

Steps for applying:


Step-1: Log on to www.nhpcindia.com & click on recruitment.
Step-2: Read all instructions given on the website.
Step-3: Fill the On Line Form with relevant details and submit.
Step-4:Take the print of the registration slip generated by the system in duplicate with Unique
Registration Number,
Step-5:Affix passport size photograph on registration slip. The candidate has to send one printout
of registration slip duly signed along with required demand draft. The registration number,
name, discipline and category should be written at the back of DD. The envelope should
be super scribed with Advertisement Number, Post applied for and Category (i.e. GEN /
OBC / SC / ST / PH) as the case may be and should be sent by ordinary post (Since
postbox does not accept mail through registered post/courier) to:

The last date of receiving registration slip along with DD by post from candidate is 15.12.2008.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS:

01 Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

02 Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility and other
norms mentioned in this advertisement.

03 All qualifications should be full time regular courses from a recognized Indian University /
Institute approved by AICTE, except AMIE. Candidates who expect their Final results by
31.07.2009 may also apply provided they have obtained requisite marks or equivalent
grade, taking average of all the semesters/years irrespective of the weightage given to
any particular semester/ year by Institute/University.

04 Internal candidates having requisite qualifications are eligible to apply.

05 Candidate has to apply online only. No manual/paper application will be entertained.

06 Candidature of the registered candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of recruitment


process or after recruitment or joining, if any Information provided by the candidate is
found to be false or is not found in conformity with eligibility criteria mentioned in the
advertisement.

07 Candidature is also liable to be rejected if valid registration slip is not received or received
un-signed or without registration amount or received after the closing date.

08 Candidates appearing in the final year/semester examination should bring their identity
card of the Institute / College at the time of Interview.

09 The admit card indicating roll number, name of the allocated test center, date of Written
Test and guidelines for the test will be made available on the same website to the
candidates found apparently eligible based on the online data and will also be informed
them through e-mail. The candidate has to download his Admit card, Test Guidelines etc.
for appearing in the test from the website, date of the same will also be informed to them
through e-mail. Admit cards will not be sent by post.

10 Candidates are advised to keep the E-mail ID active for at least one year. No change in
E-mail ID will be allowed once entered. All future correspondence shall be sent via E-mail
only.

11 Candidates employed with Government Departments / PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies have


to produce NOC at the time of Interview.

12 In case of any ambiguity / dispute arises on account of interpretation in version other than
English, English version will prevail.

13 NHPC reserves the right to cancel / modify or alter recruitment process, without issuing
any further notice or assigning any reason there of.

14 Legal jurisdiction will be Faridabad in case of any dispute.
