PREFACE

A very important element in curriculum of an Engineering student

is the Practical training.

I under went practical training at “THERMAL POWER PLANT AT

SHREE CEMENT LTD.”
I have taken training from 12-05-2010 to 12-06-2010. This is a
part of total 30 days training program in Corporate in the
curriculum of the Govt. Engineering College Ajmer for B.TECH.
Courses. This period was before my 3rd year B.E. Exams.

As I am a student of Mechanical Engineering Branch so the

training at T.P.P.has been particularly beneficial for me. I saw the
various procedures, processes, and equipment used in production
of electricity by steam which was studied in books and this has
helped me in better understanding of power generation. T.P.P. is
very difficult to acquire complete knowledge about it in a short
Span. I have tried to get acquainted with overall plant functioning
and main Concept involved there in.

The scope of Mechanical Engineering is increasing day by day. It

is virtual training. During training I was permitted to take training
at many section of mechanical engineering (Boiler, Turbine,
E.S.P., ash handling system, Coal handling plant, Water treatment
plant etc.) and general plant familiarization. I have summarized
all the things, which I saw & learned at TPP in this training report.
