Event Information

The Institute of Fundraising (Scotland) is proud to present #DigiFun2011, Scotland's

Digital Fundraising Showcase. Now in its second year, #DigiFun boasts an
outstanding range of speakers from pioneering charities and digital agencies.

#DigiFun2011 will let learn delegates learn from experts in the field and practicing
fundraisers sharing real-life examples.

#DigiFun2011 will be opened by Jon Parsons, Digital Innovation Manager with The
Woodland Trust, one of most innovative UK charities online.

Sara Thomas, Fundraiser with MND Scotland, will share the results of MND
Scotland’s Field of Campaign. Results which lead to MND Scotland being nominated
in the 2011 JustGiving Awards in ‘The Most Creative Charity’ category. Not bad for a
charity that barely had on an online presence a year before.

Mike McGrail, Owner of The Social Penguin Blog – regarded as a 'must-read'

among consumers of digital marketing information across the globe – will share how
charities can use blogs to make a big impact.

Richard Hudson has nearly 15 years experience in the digital arena, working at
digital agencies. In 2010 Richard was appointed Digital Media Manager with The
Meningitis Trust and challenged to implement a digital roadmap to prepare the
charity for a digital future. This has included launching a new website, getting a
quarter of the staff blogging, launching an iPhone application, running viral
campaigns and using social media to engage supporters and rally support. The
Meningitis Trust has been one of the most creative charities on Twitter in 2011 with
supporters such as The Virtual Baristas and Chris and Katy Mann.

Ashley Clarke, Digital Executive with Beautiful World, an agency for charities
that want to do the world some good will show charities how to track the success of
digital fundraising campaigns.

Conrad Roussow is a web developer with experience in working with the latest web
technologies. For the past 7 years he has helped charities, local authorities, small
web businesses and larger publishing houses achieve success on the web through
project management, web development and social media training workshops. Conrad
is the Digital Manager at Shelter Scotland, where he manages the digital team, their
social media channels and the Shelter Scotland website.

#DigiFun2011 is truly honoured that the closing plenary will be presented by Lucy
Buck, Founder and Project Director of Child’s i Foundation. Lucy gave up a career
as a Television Producer, on shows such as Hell's Kitchen, House of Tiny Tearaways
and Big Brother, to set up her own children's charity, Child's i Foundation, and build
their own Mother and Baby Centre in Kampala, Uganda. In 2010, Child’s i
Foundation raised £10,000 in 38 hours in the Save Joey’s Life appeal. If there is one
charity that demonstrates the power of social media, punching above your weight,
then it has to be Child’s i Foundation. Not surprisingly, Child’s i Foundation won ‘The
Most Creative Charity’ in the 2011 JustGiving Awards.
