Principal Corner,

December 2010

Dear Parents/Guardians:

It is hard to believe the semester is coming to a close soon and the holidays are almost here! The first
semester just flew by but I feel like much was accomplished.

Our teachers are still diligently working on their common assessments and each grade level is working on
their SMART goals for the year. Many students are participating in both ELO after-school tutoring as
well as 21st Century Grant enrichment activities which will continue in the second semester. We also
completed the first round of HSA testing in order for us to get a baseline of how our students in grades 3-5
are doing on the year’s benchmarks.

I would like to take this time to say aloha and mahalo to Ms. Yanaga. Ms. Yanaga has been our counselor
here at Likelike this semester and has done a superb job. We are unsure where Ms. Yanaga will go from
here but we thank her and wish her the best of luck. Ms. Yanaga is substituting for Ms. Garnett who will
return in January.

I would like to send all of you my best wishes and hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!! Enjoy
your time with your family, friends and loved ones. Students start school again on January 5, 2011. I
look forward to a fabulous second semester with all of you!

Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

Stacey S. Oshio

We have a limit supply (28 copies) of cookbooks. The Cookbooks
are $10.00 and can be purchase in the front office. We hope our Likelike families
will use the recipes to create dishes to enjoy.
The majority of recipes are from our school staff, and we have some special
contributions from parents who responded to our request for recipes last spring.
The introduction includes background information about Princess Likelike, Ainahau,
