Introduction
Discussion
Conceptual design
In this section, you need to determine the shape, dimensions, number, and arrangement of PVs. Your
design should satisfy the required limits regarding capacity of PVs and available space for their
installation. Total capacity of the PVs cannot be decreased and available total space for PVs cannot be
increased. However, you can simultaneously increase the capacity of PVs and reduce the required
space.
Materials selection
Select the materials including fiber and matrix which will be used in the manufacturing of PVs. This
selection should be based on ISO 11439 guidelines. You need to justify your selection. You can use a
“decision matrix” to illustrate your selection.
Fiber orientation
Determine/Calculate the fiber orientation which will be used in design/manufacturing of PVs. Try to
minimize the weight of the PV by reaching Isotensoid situation.
