Party in a rustic and neutral colour palette with little wooden birds and tin buckets filled with all white
blossoms, a fresh from the garden meatless menu and dripping with chocolates ice cream on sugar cones
for dessert.

FAVOUR IDEAS
Make small arrangements of flowers or herbs in glass jam jars, decorate with twine and tags
from the free printables from www.styleguide.com.au. Then place one at each place setting for
decoration as well as to indicate where guests are to be seated. At the end of the afternoon,
guests then get to take a little memento home with them – a nice way for everyone to enjoy the
flowers long after the party.
Fill little paper brown packets (made pretty with some pinking shears) with rubber stamped plant
stakes made from bamboo cutlery. Together include other gardening goodies like little packets of
wildflower, vegetables or herbs or a gardening apron fashioned out of tea towels.
Fill Kraft cookie boxes with a useful gift, like Debbie gave guests a card with wooden drawing pins
on – available from In Good Company Shop.
Give young guests some of In Good Company’s twig pencils that come in both lead and colours
(R4.50 each). These are also a good gift to give at the beginning of the party as it will keep the
little ones busy colouring in a garden themed picture. For older kids how about one of DIY paint

TOP 5 TEA ETIQUETTE TIPS
1. To stir your tea, swish the tea back and forth, never hitting the sides of the cup.
2. Never leave the spoon in the cup, but gently rest the spoon on the saucer, behind
the cup on the right side under the cup handle.
3. Drink your tea by lifting the saucer and cup together, with the saucer in one hand,
and cup in the other.
4. When seated at the table, the napkin is put on one’s lap. The napkin should never
touch the table once one is seated. Even if temporarily leaving the table, the napkin
is set on the seat.
5. Forks should never be set back down on the table. Instead, they are set on the side
of the plate.

THINGS WE LOVE:
The ballerina tutu cake! It was chocolate with a mint chocolate filling (“per Stelly’s request”).
Mrs. Oakley - she is this wonderful woman who does story time at Quail Ridge Books. Stella absolutely loves her,
her stories and her awesome crafts! Mrs. Oakley agreed to read a Miss Lina’s Ballerinas and do a craft with the
party guests. She brought adorable ballet slippers that the kid’s painted with watercolour and laced with pink
ribbon!. The surprise visit from a sweet sugar plum fairy ballerina. The kids (and adults) watched as the ballerina
performed the Sugar Plum Fairy dance from the Nutcracker. After the performance, she showed the girls a few
ballet moves! Stella’s favourite things: her new My Little Pony house, her new book from Mrs. Oakley and the
pink smashmallows (aka marshmallows).

To coincide with the end of School term, and Zara’s 4th Birthday, we
hosted a „Too Cool for School Penguin Party“ at her Pre-school. Luckily
for once the cold weather was perfect to co-ordinate with our „let it snow“
