OPEN CALL FOR LOCAL PROJECTS

Deadline for presentations: October 20 2010

The Cultural Center of Spain in Miami invites LOCAL artists (living in South
Florida) to send us their proposals.

- Performing arts (Dance, theater). We will give special attention to those projects
that include educational components (workshops, master classes).

- Music

- Visual Arts

- Individual workshops covering any discipline (Visual arts, performing arts,

music, film, literature or science).

Among all the projects received we will make a selection of the ones that better relate
with the objectives and lines of programming of the Net of Cultural Centers that belong
to the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID).
These projects will be taken into consideration for their participation in our Center and
touring the net of the Centers in 2011.

REQUIREMENTS

Every presentation should include:

1. Title of the Project and /or educational components (workshops, master

classes etc.)
2. Type of project (discipline).
3. Brief description that includes an introduction, objectives, target audience,.
(Max. 500 words)
4. Artists’ resumes, profile of the presenting institution and of every participant
in the Project.

 5. What audience is the project targeted to (children, students, senior
citizens)
6. Technical specifications:
- Space needed (minimum measures of the stage)
- Electrical capacity
- Will you need to hang scenery over the stage?
Will you be bringing your own hanging/rigging equipment for these hanging
items?
- Time for load in and load out
- Lightning specifications
- Sound specifications
- Number of technicians
- Props, scenography etc.
- Weight, measures etc. for props traveling

7. Length of the show and/ or workshops

8. Number of people on tour
9. Estimated budged (specified).
10. If the project is not a premiere, details of previous editions or shows will be
needed.
11. Is there any workshop or master class accompanying the event?
12. Availability for touring (dates)
13. Copy right of the show
14. Mention what other institutional help, if any, the Project enjoys.
15. Specify the ideal dates to present the project and if there are other dates
planned in advance in other places. Please, specify those dates are.
16. Send images and audiovisual materials
17. Name, telephone number and email address of the person in charge of the
project. Web page if available
18. Please indicate in which of the following lines your Project would be better
inscribed:

- Empowerment of Iberoamerican Cultural Industries

- Recognition and strengthen of rights
- Promotion of Iberoamerican culture and identity
- Promotion of local creativity
- Promotion of reading
- Science and Society
- International Cultural Cooperation
- Promotion of Spanish culture
- Educational programs (workshops and seminaries). Specify the target
audience children, youth, adults or professionals.

NOTE: The reception of the application does not imply any obligation by
CCEMiami. All projects received are subjected to a selection process and
evaluation by CCEMiami programming department. Once accepted, all the
information needed for the communication of the Project will have to be sent to
CCEMiami via email in Spanish and English using Microsoft Word. All the

photographic material will be needed in high resolution (300 dpi). It is
responsibility of the presenting institution to send all logos that must be
included in the media materials. It is necessary to inform the Center in advance
about all necessities for the presentation of the Project. After being selected by
CCEMiami, the project will be presented to the Net of the Cultural Centers in
Latin America. Is there is any Center interested we will announce it with enough
time to prepare the tour.
