Visa Guidelines for Irish Study Visa Applicants from Pakistan

Please note that due to the large volume of applications received, Dublin Business School can provide very limited
assistance in relation to the visa process and, therefore, strongly recommends that you make your application using
one of the DBS appointed agents listed on the DBS website: http://www.dbs.ie/Default.aspx?tabid=626

If you choose not to apply using our agents, please ensure that you read the instructions for making an application
very carefully. When it comes to the visa process, make sure that you follow the guidelines set out by the Irish
Naturalisation and Immigration Service as closely as possible to ensure that you do not miss any part of the visa
application or omit any required documentation.

The guidelines provided in this document are designed to assist you in avoiding the most common errors that
applicants make when applying for their study visa.

Documentation

Only original and verifiable documents should be submitted

Clear and neat presentation of documents is essential, even if all the information is included and correct
If there are any unexplained gaps in your education or employment history, your visa will be refused
Submission of fake documents or other false information will mean not only a visa refusal but also a ban of 5
years on your passport
Incomplete documentation will result in visa refusal

Finances

The tuition fee must be paid by you or your sponsor and this must be done by bank transfer. This is a re
quirement of the visa issuing authority
Masters applicants or their sponsor need to demonstrate that they have immediate access to at least
2.5 million Pakistan Rupees
Undergraduate applicants or their sponsor must demonstrate that they have immediate access to
at least 3 million Pakistan Rupees
If you or your sponsor does not have these finances, you will most likely be refused a visa
The sponsor must be an immediate family member
You or the sponsor must have direct access to the funds
Share certificates are not considered evidence of finances
Any type of fixed deposits are not considered evidence of finances
Properties including land are not considered evidence of finances

Observing the Conditions of the Visa

If the statement of purpose does not clearly specify the exact name of the course applied for and the
reason for applying to that course, the visa will be refused.
You need to demonstrate not only an understanding of the programme but how it is relevant to your future
career plans
The financial investment must be adequately justified, i.e. you must be able to demonstrate why you or
your sponsor has made the decision to invest in studying on the chosen course and what the expected
return on investment will be
 English Language
DBS will not accept applications from students with an IELTS score of less than 5.0

UK and other Visa Refusals
If you have already been refused a visa for the UK or any other country and do not disclose this, it will mean not only
a visa refusal but will also mean a ban of 5 years on your passport
If you do disclose a visa refusal, you must address all reasons of refusal with documentation

Appeals
If you are permitted to appeal a visa refusal, you must engage the services of a lawyer. DBS is unable to assist you
with the appeal. You must address all reasons for the refusal, show how they have been rectified and evidence with
any necessary documents.

Interviews
If called for an interview in the Embassy, the following is extremely important and you must prepare yourself
accordingly:

Make sure that you are completely aware of your study plan (Statement of Purpose).They will certainly
ask you about your reasons for wanting to study the programme you choose, why you want to study i
n Ireland and DBS in particular.

You may also be asked about the following: Reason why you want to embark on a 1 year /
3 year (9K Euro per year) course in Dublin? Who paid your fees for the 1st year?
All affidavits should be signed by a witness and stamped by public notary

During my stay I undertake not to enter full‐time employment while in the State other than casual employment as
defined in the student visa guidelines.

I undertake not to visit Great Britain, Northern Ireland or any other country without a valid entry visa and a re‐entry
visa for Ireland. Should I enter another country illegally, or attempt to re‐enter Ireland without a re‐entry visa, I und
erstand I could be refused entry.

I also undertake not to breach any of the other conditions of my permission to remain in the State.

I acknowledge that should I breach any of the conditions of my study visa my case would be reviewed and
consideration will be given to my deportation.

I also undertake to return to my home country after completion of my studies at Dublin Business School, Dublin 2,
Ireland.
