State Representative Joe Sosnowski’s

Summer College Internship Program


If you are outgoing, organized, engaged and want to experience working in a state legislative office, this may be the
opportunity for you. State Representative Joe Sosnowski’s Summer College Internship is a competitive program that will
provide college students with the opportunity to experience state legislative work. Activities will range from constituent
correspondence and surveying to research and casework. Each intern will also travel to Springfield during their
internship for a formal House chamber tour and seminar with state leadership staff.

The program will run from Monday, May 23 – Friday, August 5, 2011. Each intern will be expected to work
approximately 35 hours weekly, and will receive a stipend of $2,000 upon completion of the program.

Specific activities will include:

• Constituent services – correspondence, casework, surveys


• Researching issues and drafting bills
• Participate in events on behalf of the Representative
• Work in the community and with local businesses alongside our Director of Outreach
• Take part in the Representative’s advisory groups
• Travel to Springfield
