What Is New in Version 2.25?

1. Features and Enhancements:

New Reverse Engineering Dialog

•Automatic saving of settings under new alias name.


•Aliases displayed in grid.
HTML Reports

•Style preview available on the Generate HTML report dialog.


•Image maps available in the ER diagram.

SQL/DDL Preview

•New DDL tab added to Entity and Relationship dialogs.

The Options Dialog Improved (formerly Environment Setup dialog)

•Conversion between databases settings added to the Options dialog.


•Patterns for Text Objects removed (accessible from Text Objects only).
•Enabled databases added to the Options dialog.
•Possibility to select default target database.

The Model Properties Dialog Improved

•Possibility to add a link to external documents like *.doc files.

Right-Click Options

•Right click options have been added to left sided OverView tree (for ERD, model, submodels and entities).
•Right-click options have been improved and modified in accordance with consistency requirements
(dialogs Reverse Engineering, Script Generating, Visible relationships in Submodel and Submodel).

Sybase ASE

•Added support for newer Sybase ASE 15.0 ESD #2, Sybase ASE 12.5.3a and Sybase ASE 12.5.4.
•Encryption columns supported, however, Create encryption items are not loaded.
Oracle 10g and Oracle 9i

•Reverse engineering script modifed.


•The Reverse engineering process for Oracle will be concluded by a message: "Process completed" in the
Log window. (also Oracle 8).
•The Load all accessible objects "ALL_" checkbox removed from the RE dialog. (also Oracle 8).
•Etc.

PostgreSQL 8.1 and PostgreSQL 8.0

•Unique constraints generated via Alter table.


•Modified handling of Serial and BigSerial datatypes and sequences. New checkbox "Load primal serial
data types" checkbox added to Reverse engineering dialog.
•New checkbox "Generate Index to Foreign Key" available on the Relationship dialog.
Etc.

2. Modifications and Minor Changes:

•Description tab renamed to Comments.


•Environment Setup dialog renamed to Options.
•Dictionary menu item renamed to User Defined Types.
•Changes in toolbars.
•Etc.

3. Other
•White spaces removed from the generated SQL code.
•Right-click item Background color, which is available when a user selects multiple entities, was renamed
to Color.
•Bug related to selection of Visible relationships in submodel fixed. CS2 selects correct items now.

4. Minimal System Requirements

5. Important Information

•A model created in CASE Studio 2 version 2.25 cannot be re-opened in any of previous CS2 versions.
Please back up your models before opening them in the 2.25 version.
•All Users with a valid license to CASE Studio 2 (CS2) version 2.x, incl. version 2.24.1, 2.23.1, 2.23 and
earlier, are allowed to update to this CASE Studio 2 version 2.25 for free.
•The "update" means to replace CASE Studio 2 version 2.x with the latest CASE Studio 2 version 2.x. Such
an update is available only for current holders of CASE Studio 2 license and is free.
•If another release of CASE Studio 2 version 2.x is published in the future, all users with a valid license to
CS2 will be allowed to update to the new version of CS2 version 2.x free of charge.
•The version 2.25 is currently planned to be the last release of CASE Studio 2 version 2.x.
•All technical questions concerning CASE Studio 2 version 2.x should be directed to CS2 Forum at:
http://www.casestudio.net/forum. Users can also contact the CS2 support team at
support@casestudio.com. The support services will be provided until 31st July 2007.
•A payment for upgrade/migration to a new product will be required after version 3 is released. Please note
that conditions and upgrade path have never been published, any kind of “free” upgrade to
version 3 has never been granted to the public (only free updates to version 2.x were advertised
in past) and any claim on free upgrades has never been a part of the CASE Studio 2 EULA.

Note: Charonware is now part of Quest Software, Inc., and as result when we are refering to version 3 we
mean Toad Data Modeler version 3. The free upgrade path has never been promised to CASE Studio 2
customers and CASE Studio 2 customers would have to purchase CASE Studio 3.

purchase date.
