Over Arching Educational Objectives

Carter is to be prepared for adult life, at home, in the world and at work. First and foremost he needs to
know what his duties to Allah are, and how to address them appropriately. At home he needs to know
how to keep himself, his family and his home healthy and hygienic, a place that the angels are
welcomed and so are all visitors. In the world he needs to know how to assert himself, meets the needs
of himself his family and his community. At work he needs to be ethical competent and able to compete
with his peers. Every where Carter need to be able to quickly figure out what he needs to know if he
doesn't already know and where to gain that knowledge from.

In order to fulfill his duties to Allah, Carter needs to know who is Allah, what are Allah's requirements
upon him and how to go about fulfilling those requirements. In order to know Allah he must study the
Quran, and hadith. In order to do that he needs to be able to read and understand Arabic, at least, in its
written form.

In order to know how to keep himself and his family healthy he needs to know basic nutrition, hygiene
practices, and good Islamic manners. He needs to know the basics of what his body needs to be healthy,
how to prepare healthy food and how to shop for them. He needs to know how to budget his money so
that he will have plenty of money for necessities. He needs to know how to grow food, and store
harvested food. He needs to know basic survival skills and how to slaughter. The fundamentals of all
this is experience and reasoning, or logic.

In order to meet the needs of himself and others he needs to be able to reason what those needs are.
This requires logic and discipline. To obtain logic he must first gain mathematical understanding and
awareness of consequence. To obtain discipline he must be given the example and must be taught to
imitate this in all areas.

In order to be competent and competitive in the work place Carter needs to have the basic skill set as
his peers, or better. He needs to be able to communicate effectively, have business knowledge, financial
knowledge. Knowledge of physical, life, earth, behavioral, and technological sciences. A large base as a
foundation will give him more to draw upon when facing challenges. More important than that he
needs to implement ethical behavior, in other words Islamic manners.
He needs:
• Arabic
◦ Speaking on advanced, sophisticated topics with an active vocabulary which can
reach 5000-8000 lexical units.
◦ Reading and writing equal to speaking abilities

◦ Well versed in literature, American and otherwise
◦ Well versed in literary genres
◦ History and structure of the English language
◦ Knowledge of the rules and conventions of standard written and spoken English
