From Ancient Egypt to the Qabbalah: The Great Transmission

In this article I summarize some evidence of how certain core teachings of ancient
Egypt crossed into the Phoenician and Hebrew cultures and gradually became part of
the esoteric Qabbalah tradition. Then I decode several important keys in the Old
Testament that reveal those teachings preserved in the text as encoded messages.

The Phoenicians adopted the phoenix as their tribal totem. The myth of the
phoenix derives from stories of the benu bird of immortality that were central to
Egyptian culture. The phoenix represents the heart of Osiris and the secret of
immortality. The word phoenix is also a code for the penis, the tool responsible
for transmitting DNA from generation to generation. The womb is the nest of
the phoenix where it works the magic of death and rebirth. In Egyptian a nest is
a throne.) Another related word from the Greek is phallus. This word phallus
resonates with the name, Palas-Athena, the Greek version of Ma’at, Goddess of
Truth and Justice. (The name Athena is metathesis for Neith, an ancient
Egyptian goddess of the hunt and warfare.) The phallus is the organ that Ma’at
governs on the Tarot Trump Card of Justice. The message of that card is that
the penis must be used in a spirit of Truth and Justice when it passes DNA along
in the ritual of sexual intercourse. The phoenix bird of immortality is also
called the Firebird. Periodically it goes to its nest and incinerates itself. Then
it arises as a new bird from its own ashes. This myth tells how the penis enters
the woman’s twat nest to burn out its sexual fire, leaving behind in the
womb-nest the ashes of its ardor in the form of a sperm that will awaken as a
new offspring. This is the common way of achieving immortality for organic
species on our planet. The personal pathway to immortality is through the
transformation of sexual energy into transcendental spirit through the kriya yoga
pranayam tantras taught by Baba. Baba, the first-born son of Osiris, was the
specialist in this technology for the culture of ancient Egypt. He learned the
technology from Tehuti (Thoth), who earlier had taught it to Amen-Ra at the
creation of the Universe. Ithyphallic Men is the Egyptian icon for the
technology of regeneration. The Egyptian tradition goes from A-Men-Ra, to
Tem, to Shu and Tefnut. This generates the spiritual birth of Seb (World) and
Nut (the Star-studded Night Sky of Outer Space).

Phoenicians recognized the advantages of the Egyptian alphabet system, but

rejected its redundancies and cumbersome set of pictograms and ideograms.
Instead they developed for their Semitic language a 22-letter alphabet based on
the concept of pictographic letters representing sounds. They did not copy the
Egyptian letters. They used the simplest figures of geometry – lines, circles,
triangles, and squares. Then they used perhaps the earliest Rune system, basing
the designs of their letters on the Egyptian image of the Sun over the Great
Pyramid. In two dimensions the solar sphere became a circle (O), and the
pyramid became a triangle ( ). The Sun is the Eye of Ra/Horus and becomes
the enlightened Wisdom Eye of Osiris, the Magus. The Pyramid is a symbol of
woman. Inverted, the triangle depicts her sexuality ( ). In the Semitic
language OD ( ) spells eternity. Man always enjoys looking at beautiful
women. Osiris as transformed into a phoenix heart erect mummy penis forever
makes love to his eternal mate Isis, the Great Pyramid. The 22 Phoenician
letters distributed over the 7 chakra energies of the human body give the
traditional approximation to Pi as the ratio of two simple whole numbers, 22 / 7.
The Phoenicians chose as the spirits of their 22 individual letters the Egyptian
deities who preside over the Weighing of the Heart Ceremony in the Book of the
Dead (Pert m Hru). The representation of the archetypes of human life and the
importance of honesty and integrity emphasized in this traditional tableau formed
the basis of the Phoenician/Semitic writing system. An additional practical
aspect of this choice was that the general population was familiar with the
Weighing of the Heart Tableau and its mythology and knew the attributes of each
participant. This made it easy for common folks to learn and remember the
alphabet.
The early Qabbalistic text, Sepher Yetzirah (ch. 2) describes the Hebrew letters,
which were copies of the Phoenician letters, in terms of the Scales of Justice, a
clear reference to Ma’at and the ancient Egyptian Weighing of the Heart
Ceremony. This is a major clue telling us how the ancient Semites created their
letters.
The Sepher Yetzirah (ch. 6) also says that Abraham invented the Hebrew
alphabet. Genesis 12 says very clearly that Abraham (Abram) spent time living
in Egypt. This adds further traditional evidence for how the alphabet developed
from Semitic people interacting with Egyptian culture. Abraham came from Ur,
a Sumerian city, but he did not base the alphabet on the Sumerian cuneiform
syllabary. Egyptian influence was definitely stronger. The name Ab-ram
means “High Father”, that is, Grand Patriarch of the Jews. The word for father
(AB) also consists of the first two letters of the alphabet. The names of these

two letters came to stand for the whole list – “Alpha-Bet”. Hence, Abram may
be a mythic figure representing the high value of the alphabet. During the 13th
Dynasty in Egypt the title Ab-Ra (Heart of Ra) was used by several pharaohs.
Abram’s wife, Sarai, was very beautiful. According to Genesis Pharaoh
welcomed Abram and Sarai into his court when they came to Egypt. This
implies Abram was a significant personage. Genesis also relates that they
received many gifts from Pharaoh, including servants, one of whom was no
doubt Hagar, the woman who eventually bore Abram’s first son, Ishmael. It
may be that Abram became a Pharaoh of Egypt, or possibly his name helps us
date him to the 13th Dynasty. In any case the evidence definitely connects
Abraham to Egypt and to the alphabet, at least symbolically.
In the Qabbalistic text Life of the Future World Rabbi Abulafia presents the
Shem Hamphorah, or “Extended Name” of the Deity as a set of 72 angels. The
names of these angels became used as mantras in Qabbalistic exercises.
Abulafia’s source for these mantras is three consecutive sentences that occur at
Exodus 14:19-21. Each sentence contains exactly 6x12 = 72 letters. Abulafia
forms 72 tri-literal root names by combining the 1st letter of the first sentence,
the last letter of the 2nd sentence, and the 1st letter of the 3rd sentence to make the
first mantra; then the 2nd letter of the 1st sentence, the second-to-last letter of the
2nd sentence, and the 2nd letter of the 3rd sentence to make the second mantra; and
so on. The passage in Exodus that Abulafia chose describes the point at which
the Israelites and the Egyptians camp by the Red Sea. At this point in the story
the Jews are leaving Egypt, but the Egyptians have decided to follow after and
harass them. An odd weather condition apparently involving wind, clouds, and
lightning prevents the Egyptians from seeing the Israelite camp. Moses then
influences this weather to stir up a strong wind that pushes back the waters of the
Red Sea so that the Israelites will be able to cross over into the Sinai Peninsula.
At least this is the traditional interpretation given to the story. Unfortunately
archaeologists find no evidence of a large-scale 40-year migration of Hebrews
through the Sinai desert. Such an event would surely have left indelible marks
on the desert. Another problem is that the Sinai belonged to Egypt during those
ages. So crossing the Red Sea did not mean leaving Egypt. So the story, and
particularly this key passage, must be talking about something else. One
general point that I believe the story makes is that the Hebrews “borrowed” a lot
of culture from the Egyptians and took it to Israel. The Qabbalist’s choice of
this text that symbolically marks the opening of the Exodus passageway out of
Egypt as a special code for a prayer seems aimed at reminding an observant
Qabbalist that the Hebrew alphabet primarily came from Egypt. This text

became an elaborate alphabet meditation procedure in the Qabbalah tradition.

Another relevant clue in the Shem Hamphorah passage is that the only person
mentioned by name in the passage is Moses. He was the leader of the Israelites.
But his name in Hebrew is MoSheH ( ), which is an exact inversion of
HaSheM ( ), “The Name”. Ha-SheM is a common Jewish way of
referring to the Divinity, whose actual tetragrammaton name was and still is
taboo for many Jews. This expression refers back to Exodus 3:14-15 where
Moses encounters the Lord as a voice speaking from a “Burning Bush”. The
Burning Bush is a code for the Tree of Life (Gen. 3:2-4). When the Lord
expels Adam and Eve from Eden, he puts a cherub by the tree to guard it with a
flaming sword that turns every which way. Thus the Tree of Life could appear to
be on fire and an angel could speak from it. This experience of Moses probably
refers to a specific state in Tantric yoga rather than a mirage in the desert.
(We’ll come back to this strange story later in the article.) When Moses asks
who speaks to him, the voice replies, “I AM THAT I AM . . . This is My Name
forever . . . . “ I am in Hebrew is AHYH, a variation of the tetragrammaton,
YHVH, and means that the Lord is simply the sense of being fully present in
whatever state that one experiences. But “The Name” became a synonym for
The [Lord’s] Name. The Shem Hamphorah is an extended form of The Name.
The total number of letters in the three sentences is 3x72 = 216. If we include the
four letters of the tetragrammaton, we get a total of 220 letters, or the ancient
Hebrew alphabet repeated ten times. Ten ( ) is a symbol of prosperity in
Hebrew, and it also is a transliteration of the name of Osiris, the national god of
Egypt. We can take that total to suggest an alphabet sequence for each of the
Sephirot on the Tree of Life, but the tenth alphabet sequence (for Kether, the
Crown Chakra) has YHVH instead of the last four letters of the Hebrew alphabet
(QRST). The four last letters of the Hebrew alphabet add up to 1000 by
gematria. This is the full value of Aleph, 10x10x10, a trinity power of tens and
the first letter and Source of the Alphabet, A.
The name Moses may also refer to the time when the alphabet system was
exported from Egypt to Israel and applied to the Semitic languages, the time of
the Exodus. There is a great debate going on over historical and archaeological
evidence for the events described in Exodus. The period may be the 19th or 20th
dynasties, a period during which most of the pharaohs had the name Ra-Moses.
(There were also several Tut-Mose’s in the 18th Dynasty.) If there was a
historical Moses who was raised by the royal family of Egypt, he might well
have been a potential or even actual Ra-Moses pharaoh. Scholarly opinion
seems to be moving toward a consensus that the Exodus story was not literally

true, but described the presence of Semitic workers in the Egyptian mines on the
Sinai Peninsula. Tablets inscribed in Proto-Semitic have been found in the
areas associated with the Exodus events. These tablets show the early stages of
the alphabet as it evolved from Egyptian letters. Thus we must take the stories
of Exodus as a myth symbolizing some deeper wisdom truth rather than actual
history, although some important kernels of historical truth do underlie the
narratives.
The 72 angels of the Shem Hamphorah also connect neatly to the 36 Decans of
the Egyptian Calendar. The whole system then maps to the 12 Houses of the
Zodiac as used in Mesopotamia. For each House there are 3 Decans and 6
Shem Hamphorah angels. One angel initiates a Decan, and a second angel
terminates it. There are 10 days for each Decan. This produces a year of 360
days. The solar year is actually 365 1/4 days. So the Egyptians assigned the
extra 5 1/4 days to a 37th Decan dedicated to Isis in their calendar.
The Shem Hamphorah passage in Exodus considered from an esoteric viewpoint
describes the movement of energy in the spine during Tantric meditation.
Below I have transcribed the original text, a rough translation, and the list of
tri-literal angel names.

The Text of Exodus 14: 19-21

A Translation of the Text

19. And an Angel of God set forth (N$O) the way (HLK) before the camp of Israel
(the upright god) and the way (YLK = HLK?) behind them. And he set forth a
pillar (OMUD) of cloud (ONN) from before them, and another stood from
behind.
20. And it (the rearward one) came between the camp of Egypt (the “split” females)
and the camp of Israel (the “upright” males), and there was the “cloud” and the
“darkness” and it lit up the night and there was no contact of this to that (Israelite
to Egyptian) all night.
21. And Moses stretched forth (shook) his hand over the sea and YHVH moved
(YULK) the sea in a powerful Eastern spirit-breath all the night and placed the

seas into dryness and restrained the waters.

Exoterically this mysterious passage tells how Angels of God led the Israelites with a
pillar of cloud and fire from before and behind, protecting them from the Egyptians as
the two groups camped by the Red Sea. It also tells how Moses magically controlled
the weather to part the Red Sea with a little help from the Lord.

Esoterically the text refers to the Tantric yoga tradition of Baba that the Qabbalists
secretly brought out of Egypt and incorporated into their own tradition. The two
pillars (OMUD) with the Israelites camped in between are Egyptian code for the name
of Baba. OMD means to stand. In Egyptian the name BABA is often written with
two leg glyphs , together forming the image of a person standing. The Egyptians
traditionally symbolized Baba by placing an icon of his name at the entrance to a
major temple or tomb in the form of a pair of megalithic pylons, obelisks, pillars,
statues, or steles. / refers to guiding the kundalini energy along the
pathway of the spine to the eye chakra to open the Wisdom Eye of Osiris/Ra/Horus.

One letter of the alphabet is missing from all three of the Shem Hamphorah sentences:
the letter G ( ). The Extended Name should include all letters of the alphabet for
completeness, especially if it is to be used as an alphabet permutation meditation
exercise. But where should we put the G? The clue appears when we connect the
“uprightness” of the Israelites to the Pillar, an obvious image of an erect phallus.
Research, practice and applications regarding the structure and function of the phallus
were Baba’s specialty. Our suspicion about this letter is confirmed when we notice a
remarkable pun on the word “cloud” (ONN). A word with almost identical
pronunciation means masturbation (AUNN). The Torah specifically mentions the
word Onan at Gen. 38 where it appears as the name of Judah’s second son. In that
story Onan practices not exactly masturbation, but coitus interruptus, when he is told
by Judah to conceive a child against his will with the widow of his older brother.
AUNN is a mourner. Onan mourns for his brother and his brother’s wife. This
meaning may come from the moaning sound of mourning. But it could also be
moaning associated with orgasm. Originally, however, the letter combination (ANN)
suggests Set, the God of the Testicles. Probably based on the story about Onan, the
word generally came to refer to various types of sexual activity that did not involve
consummation -- that is, ejaculation into the womb. That included masturbation as
well as coitus interruptus. Exoteric Jewish tradition with its emphasis on “normal
sex” primarily for the generation of offspring frowned on such ideas, and so the word
AUNN took on negative connotations.

So we discover that in the Shem Hamphorah the letter N at the end of ONN was
to be secretly shifted to its look-alike G ( ). The original word intended was ONG,
which means pleasure and delight. The Sepher Yetzirah 2:4 cryptically gives us
this key when it says: “There is no good higher than delight (ONG), and no evil lower
than plague (NGO).” At this point the Sepher has just presented the 22 letters in the
form of a circle with gates that permute. Why does the text suddenly mention the
word ONG out of the blue? Perhaps the intent is more than just to tell us that
tri-literal roots permute as well as bi-literal roots. There are hundreds of roots to
choose from. After every temple service, Jews enjoy ONeG ShaBaT, Delight of the
Sabbath. This is a table set full of snacks and treats to encourage socializing. But
the true meaning of ONG is the bliss of orgasm. Thus the esoteric meaning of
OMUD H-ONN (pillar of cloud) is OMUD H-ONG (pillar of bliss). The aroused
men (upright gods, or Israelites) and the aroused women (split gods, or Egyptians) are
separated into two groups and each group practices a special form of masturbation
along with secret breathing techniques. During the pleasuring process they practice
retention of semen, and thus have no ejaculation. Semen is held back in its scrotal
sack (“darkness” = ) through powerful tantric techniques that separate the bliss
of orgasm from the habitual physiological urge to ejaculate. This process generates
experiences of enlightenment (YAR) even though there is no actual sexual contact or
consummation with ejaculation. The word for night (LYLH) refers to manipulation
(Y = yod = hand) of the penis (L). Sexual activity generally occurs more often at
night. Orgasm with no ejaculation means that the “waters” of ejaculation are
transmuted into energy that rises up the spinal pillar into the brain to open the higher
chakras. The ancient instinct to ejaculate is modified into a new behavior pattern.
There is no loss of bliss. On the contrary it is greatly expanded and extended.

Each angelic name in the Sham Hamphorah consists of a tri-literal root. Each root
can have a male ending (-AL) or a female ending (-aH). This means there are
actually 144 angels in the Sham Hamphorah, twelve for each house of the Zodiac, and
4 for each Decan (a male and a female to initiate, and a male and a female to
terminate.)

The word ONN occurs twice in the Exodus text. This gives us two substitutions of
G for N. The first letter switch (#36) turns MND into MGD. This angel marks the
midpoint of the list. The Maenads were the tantrika followers (usually female) of
Dionysus, famous for their uninhibited sexual behavior. They were people who
lived from (M) testicle (N) to cunt (D). That is a pretty direct life style. When the
letter changes we discover , the spiritual guide. The root MGD also means to

make something excellent, sweet, or delicious, a nice connection to ONG. We can

analyze it as from (M) good fortune (GD). G is the breast, and D is the yoni.
Access to these is good fortune indeed for any healthy male.

The second letter switch (#54) gives us GYT, which has no gloss in the dictionary, but
occurs at the three-quarters point in the list. GYT is a key word given by the pointer
code, so it must have a special meaning. I suspect that this word should be read as
GYD, which means “penis” and refers back to the primary tool used in tantric
procedures and that has already come up several times in our analysis. Breast and
yoni are exactly what GYD aims for. GYD is an extension of GD (as in M-GD).
GD means Good Fortune and is the root of our English words good and God. The
recurrence of the combination GD reinforces the idea that we are on the right track.

If our hunch about GYD is correct, we must make another letter substitution in the
Exodus text. We must change AT to AD in the third sentence of the Shem
Hamphorah Exodus passage. AD means “mist” in Hebrew. This slightly changes
the meaning of the passage: “And he placed the MIST of the sea into dryness and
restrained the waters.” Such a change makes sense both exoterically and esoterically,
since the passage is about a weather condition and specifically concerns moisture.
The AT in the original text is simply a grammatical particle and does not carry
meaning as a noun or verb.

The word AD is a very important word in the Torah, and this key in the Shem
Hamphorah calls it to our attention. Without this key we tend to skip over its
occurrence in Genesis without noticing its importance. It first appears in Gen. 2:6
and forms a key step in the creation of mankind. The text starts at verse 5 during the
second telling of the creation of man (the first being at Gen. 1:27 where the text just
says that God created man in his image but adds no other details.) Here is what Gen.
2:6 says. “And every shrub of the field was still in the earth, and every herb of the
field had not yet sprung up; for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth,
and there was not a man to work the ground; (6) but there went up a mist (AD) from
the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. (7) Then the Lord God formed a
dust man from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man
became a living soul.”

There is something strange here, because in the first telling of creation God had
already created plants and animals and water in abundance before he created man.
This second telling of the story sounds more like an adaptation of myths about the

founding of Egypt in the desert of North Africa and the creation of mankind by
Khnemu from the Nilotic waters and the fertile soils they bring up from the south.
Egypt is noted for its lack of rain. The Egyptian god Atem is the priapus of Ra that
creates the world. The Hebrew text has a punning play on the words ground
(ADMH) and man (ADM). ADM also means “red”. Soil often has a red color due
to iron oxide in it. We can analyze the root ADM as divine (A) blood (DM). Blood
is red, and the root for blood (DM) further analyzes into yoni (D) fluid (M).
Menstrual blood is a special fluid that flows regularly from a woman’s genitals after
she ovulates but does not become pregnant. The English words “dame” and
“damsel” probably comes from this root, DM. We can also analyze the root ADM as
AD + M, or “mist” plus “fluid”. The root AD suggests the divine yoni’s odor or
“mist”. The verb HSQH means to irrigate, to water, or moisten. All these
meanings are often used in a sexual sense to refer to intercourse. The word seems to
derive from the notion that food (S) on the tongue (Q) stimulates salivation.

The moistening of the soil transforms it into soft and malleable clay for Khnemu to
shape on his potter’s wheel. Genesis uses the verb “to form” (YTzR) which suggests
that the hand (Y) shapes a rock (TzR). TzR primarily is flint, the rock with the
power (R) to make sparks (Tz). The dust (OPR) that the Lord shapes into an earth
man (ADM) puns on the name OBR, patriarch of the Hebrews. OB-R, “cloud
power” is an embodiment of “mist”, because a cloud (ONN or OB) is made from
countless spherical droplets (O) that together form a shape (B) that has the power (R)
to float or fly (OP) in the sky. OPR is a cloud of dust or sand particles that blow into
the eyes O and mouth P during desert storms. OBR is a cloud of water particles.
OBR also has the meaning of passing by, or passing over, which is certainly what
clouds do. We recognize here our English word, “over” and its German equivalent,
“ueber”. The text thus subtly suggests that the Lord creates an “Ueber-Mensch” or
“Super Man”, a supposedly more advanced, civilized, and intelligent “Hebrew Man”
for his garden from particles of water and dust.

The name Adam is actually taken from the Egyptian god Atem, who represents the
phallus of Ra from which he creates the Universe by -- you guessed it -- masturbation.
Our universe is the ejaculate of A-Men-Ra. As the biblical creation story continues
we discover that this particular Adam is clearly NOT the first person on earth. For
example, Adam’s sons Cain and Seth find wives and start families. Other tribes must
have been around unless Adam and Eve had some unmentioned daughters and the
family practiced incest. It is quite likely that the story records the creation of a
particular breed of man, not the first man. Other forms of mankind had already

evolved from their primate brethren. As others have suggested, the creation of
Adam may have been a case of deliberate genetic modification by some higher race of
beings.

According to the mythology of Egypt, Isis represents the fertile soil of the Delta in the
North. When the Nile floods, it moistens the Delta lands and prepares them for
tilling and planting once the waters subside. Osiris, husband of Isis, represents the
sowing of seed into the fertile Delta of Isis. Set is the dry desert that surrounds the
Nile, and Nephthys is the rising Nile water that comes from the South bearing creative
potential as water and fertile soil. These four deities describe the geography that
enabled the civilization of Egypt to flourish in ancient times. Other civilizations
such as the Sumerians and Harappans could rival ancient Egypt, but their lands were
more exposed to invasion, so they could not maintain a continuous high level of
cultural integrity for several millennia, but succumbed much earlier to the mixing of
cultures and barbarian ravages that eventually also destroyed Egypt’s classical culture.

The name Elohim (ALHYM) has a masculine plural ending on a feminine noun, ALH.
The root analyzes as divine/creative/bull (A) phallus (L) breath (H). The male form
is AL with the feminine ending –H added. Thus Allah is female, or perhaps
hermaphroditic. The root describes the ancient technology of the Cosmic (A) Cobra
(L) Breath (H). By means of these techniques of pranayam and yogic exercises the
ancients learned to control their sexual energy and channel it into higher spiritual
attainments. This enabled the creation of an elite leadership that could oversee a
great civilization for thousands of years. The Hebrew god Yah was often depicted in
ithyphallic form just like Men, the Egyptian god of generation. Such a priapic statue
of Yah was found in the old Hathor (cow goddess) temple at Timna, the probable site
of the Sinai encampment described in Exodus after the crossing of the Red Sea.
Hathor was the Egyptian goddess of the daytime sky filled with the sun’s light. She
was often symbolized as a cow giving life from her udders to all (also called Meht-Urt,
the “Full Great One”.)

The initial aleph of the root ALH is a glyph of a bull’s head. This is the Ka-energy.
In Egyptian a bull was called Ka, and so also was the electric energy that moves the
body and reaches its climax in orgasm. Yah was often called Ogel-Yah (OGL-YH),
or Yah the Lusty Bull Calf. In ancient Egypt the Golden Calf (see Exodus 32)
symbolized the first ray of the sun in the morning just as it rose above the horizon.
So for Egyptians the bull was a sign belonging to the East, plowing, and fertility.
The sun hovering eternally at the horizon of dawn symbolized enlightenment and

eternal youth. The name OGLYH is a permutation of OLHYG. OLH means to

raise. OL means above, and HYG is a form of the root HG or HGH, which means to
murmur, moan, or meditate (breathing H in the breast G). There was a high form of
meditation associated with this mythology.

The G that we substitute for N in the Shem Hamphorah stands for the breast ( ) and
expresses a nurturing quality of love through care and protection. N means small,
and originally refers to the glands or their secretions. But it can be a baby suckling
secretions from the breast gland. In the Genesis passage where man is created the
Lord is called YHVH ALHYM. If we place ALHYM next to OLHYG, we discover
that AL and OL seem to alternate, as they often do in Hebrew. The final letters M
and G spell MG, the mighty MaG, or magus. The other hidden occurrence of G in
the Extended Name also supports this idea of a magical power. We find MGD,
which has MG plus D.

Thus we arrive at MGD (the guide) and GYD (the penis) as the two secret angels.
The letter L (the letter icon of the penis and the balancing scales) has the meaning of
guide or leader. The function of a penis is to guide sperm into the womb so that it
may fertilize the woman’s egg of life. We can also parse MGD as M-GD, from God.
The Extended Name text specifically uses the term “angel of God” (MLAK ALHYM).
This confirms that our reading of the key is correct. MG-D is a female member of
the Magi Order. If we add a phallic L, we get MGDL, the Tower. This is one of
the Tarot Archetypes and the surname of Mary Magdalene, the disciple (and perhaps
also lover and wife) of Jesus. MGD-L is the sweet choice for the Lingam, the icon
of Shiva. DL is the limp penis after it finishes DaLlying with the Delta.

We thus find the Lord’s name may be AL or OL, and he may roar (HYM) or murmur
(HYG). We also find the name OLHY (my god, my leaf, or my arousal) in the
permuted form YOLH (arose) right after AD in the Genesis text. YOLH comes from
OLH, and means to rise up, grow, or ascend. Right after that word we find MN
H-ARTz, which is usually translated as “from the earth”. However, MN, as we
mentioned earlier is also the Egyptian god of fertility, Men. So we might translate
the passage as: “And AD[N] (or AT[N]) arose as Men of Atum.” The Aten is the
flying winged disc of the sun, immortalized in the name of the eccentric pharaoh,
Akhen-aten. Perhaps the N that we remove from the Exodus code becomes an N
that follows AD. In Hebrew ADN means Lord. “Adonay” (My Lord) is the normal
way that Jews address God.

So the missing letter G in the Exodus code gives us a substitution that generates a
pointer to another key letter code that we find in Genesis: the secret of how to make
enlightened humans. First open the Eye of Wisdom (the Aten Flying Eye/I Disc) by
the tantric practice of A-Men, the Cosmic Cobra Breath, represented iconically by the
ithyphallic god Men. Sure enough, the Genesis text goes on to say that the Aten
energy suffuses the whole “face of the ground [PNY H-ADMH] with life energy.”
The penis of Atem becomes suffused with blood (DM) and rises erect like the stalk of
a plant. OLHYG/ALHYM then uses his orgasm (YTzR) to become a Superior Man
(ADM OPR/OBR) as Men of the Ground (MN H-ADMH), and then breathes the
breath of life in his nostrils (Cosmic Pranayam). This is a covert description of the
ancient practice of the Cobra Breath. The Genesis text really describes the uplifting
of man from beast to enlightened being via yogic practices. Egyptian art often
shows a deity holding the ankh key of life up to the nose of a pharaoh to “give him
life” (da’ ankh).

The very next thing that happens in the Genesis text is that the Lord creates the
Garden of Eden (GN ODN). He specifically places it in the Eastward Direction
(M-QDM) toward the rising sun. This echoes nicely with the text of the Extended
Name, where the Divine Wind blows from the East. The word for East (QDM)
originally means to lick menstrual blood, a substance known to tantrikas as Star Fire.
In the ancient schools menstrual cocktails, far from being considered unclean, were
used to nourish higher life energy. Our English words such as generate, general,
genetics, and so on, all come from the root GN, the GardeN of GeNesis. The
menstrual period precedes (QDM) the time of fertility (GN). The Egyptian
menstrual period was the Nilotic flood. O and A often substitute in Hebrew, so the
ODN of Eden is the same as the ADN of the Aten. OD means eternity, the Wisdom
Eye of the Sun over the Pyramid. So the living power of the AD is the immortal
mist of time. DN is to judge or weigh. This connects our story to the ancient
Egyptian myth of the Weighing of the Heart in the Hall of Judgment. For Hebrews
the Egyptian A-DN becomes the Divine (A) Judgment (DN). In some versions of
the Weighing of the Heart Tableau you can see the Aten surrounded with erect cobras
or feathers of Shu’s Prana Breath and Ma’at’s Truth over the head of Osiris. ADN is
a divine judgment and ODN is the eye’s judgment. O is the letter of the Magician’s
Eye of Wisdom, the Magus archetype in the Tarot and the Eye of Osiris as he rises to
the level of A-Men-Ra.

Osiris gains the magical Eye of Wisdom that judges by spontaneous intuition rather
than canons of good and evil. Sure enough, right in the center of the Garden of

ODN we find the Tree of Life and the Tree of “Knowing Good and Evil” (
, ). The Lord warns Adam and Eve not to get into making
judgments based on Good or Evil. DOT is the missing eleventh Sephirah on the
Tree of Life, the dot in the eye that leads to discordance when not opened properly.
Following the advice of the serpent (probably a cobra, but maybe just a worm) Adam
and Eve picked and ate fruit from that tree. That misbehavior apparently caused
them to fall into the Sephirah of MLKUT, banished from the Garden of the upper
portion of the Tree of Life. Oddly enough, the so-called “evil” (RO) aspect of the
Tree is a reference to Ra, the Egyptian Sun God, the Sun Tarot Archetype, and the
Source of Life. So the story has been distorted. RO also means a friend or
companion in Hebrew, but for some reason no one translates it in this sense. The
Tree may actually be a Tree of Knowing Goodness and Friendship rather than
Goodness and Evil. DOT also may be a transliteration of the name Thoth, the
Egyptian god of knowledge, science, and technology. The word “good” ( ) may
be a disguised form of Seb (Egyptian god of earth). The so-called “tree” (OTz) may
actually be a “set of plans”. In fact a synonym for that sense (MORKUT) appears in
the famous Qabbalistic text, “The Emerald Tablet”. OD is the Eye on the Pyramid of
Isis, and OTz is the Eye on the Tower of Atem. This eye (the opening on the head of
the penis) shoots out sparks of creative energy in the form of sperms just as a tree
shoots out its seeds. The root translated as “tree” (OTz) means eye (or leaf) sparks,
an expression for the god as creative ideas or as letters written on leaves of paper to
be read by those with eyes that can see. This is the Plan of Life developed by Thoth
(consciousness) and Ra (life energy) for Seb, our Good Planet Earth (the physical
world of experience.

As we read on in the Genesis text we discover that the Lord gives man as his first
project the game of creating knowledge by naming everything. If God gives him
this project he could hardly be against man having knowledge. Adam is a creator in
the image of his creator. He creates a Name (SheM) for each object in the garden,
including the woman the Lord fashions for him from a “rib” ( ). The names
created by Adam collectively become SheMYM, a pun for The Heavens. The
formation of Eve from a “rib” makes no sense at all if we take it literally. TzL is the
shadow cast by an erect tower or stake onto a dial O for telling of time. It is the
sundial, an ancient chronometer. That does not help much either. But L is a branch
and OTz is a tree. Perhaps Eve was a branch in the genealogical tree of man. We
can also break the root down into Tz (the ejaculate) of the phallus (L) becoming a ball
(O) of cells, the first stage of a fetus. This makes more sense biologically. A man’s
bone that can make children is his extra stiff leg, the erect penis. The story of Adam

being asleep during the process suggests that maybe he ejaculated during a dream.
But if there was no woman around for him to copulate with, then Eve must have been
a test tube baby or else a child created by artificial insemination of an Elohim woman
with sperm from Adam’s stiff boner. The Elohim may have wanted to retain the
genetic purity of this hybrid creature.

In ancient Egypt the Sem was a special high priest who carried out the important
initiation ritual of Opening the Mouth (Ap Re). Once the mouth of the initiate was
“opened” the Sem priest touched it with a magic wand called the Ur Hekau
(“powerful mantras”) and introduced the initiate to certain powerful mantras. The
Ur Hekau wand had a sinuous serpent-like shape with an erect Uraeus cobra mounted
on its tip. Shortly after Adam gave names to everything including his female
companion, a serpent shows up and encourages Adam and Eve to go ahead and enjoy
the fruit of the Tree of Knowing Goodness and Friendship. At this point the Genesis
text makes an important pun on the word “naked” (ORUM, the unclothed primitive
state of Adam and Eve) and “subtle” (ORUM, the “cleverness” of the serpent.) This
pun is always lost in the translations. What is the difference? After Adam and Eve
eat the fruit despite the warning from the Lord, they become aware of their nakedness
( ) and sew ( * the power of joining strips, or the mating T of a bull PR)
skirts ( = the power to clothe or bind the legs or chest G with ropes or woven
threads H*) of fig leaves ( ). OR-M is related to OR, the power to see,
consciousness. M is the many things we are conscious of. The key point here is
that Adam and Eve were self-aware. So was the Uraeus. O-RM is the High Eye, or
high awareness. is to make a circle and celebrate a festival. Adam and Eve
discovered culture and started to make clothing and decorations. They discovered
art! This started the stage-by-stage upward progress of civilization. is a
ladder, and can also be legs walking or climbing. The “fig leaf” puns on the
expression “to arouse (OLH) sexual heat (TANH)”. The fig also means a pretext, a
form of pretense. And the leaf is OLH, which is also a substitute form of ALH, the
Lord’s name. The whole passage suggests that Adam and Eve started playing around
pretending to be gods just as the Uraeus predicts. “Your eyes shall be opened, and
ye shall be as gods, knowing goodness and friendship.” They will become as Thoth,
Seb, and Ra.

The reason they do not do as they are told by the Lord, but do what the Uraeus
suggests is that they want the fruit to make them more like their mentor/parent. The
real problem here is NOT that they disobey the Lord. For a copy to want to be as good
as the original is not a crime. The problem is that they fall into pretense. Then,

when caught at it, they try to pass the responsibility to someone else. Adam blames
Eve, and Eve blames the Uraeus. When the Lord punishes them by expelling them
from Eden, the punishment is not for disobedience. It is for not taking responsibility
for their actions. This lack of responsibility means they fail the primary test of
godhood. A god must be ready to take full responsibility for his or her own creations.
That Adam and Eve do not do so shows they are not yet ready for full godhood.
Unfortunately most interpretations of the Genesis story have always leaned heavily
toward emphasis on obedience and the idea that the Lord punishes lack of obedience.
If the Lord really created man in his own image as Genesis says, then why would He
want man to be merely obedient? God is Her own Master and takes orders from no
one. If we accept the traditions that God or a group of gods created mankind as a
slave to work for him, her, or them, then the master god(s) faced a conflict in their
creation. They wanted man to have their intelligent design, but also wanted him to
behave like a subservient slave. Such an idea is doomed to break down eventually
due to its innate contradiction. Creators of intelligent robots would do well to pay
heed. After His protégés fail to pass the responsibility test, the Lord expels them
from ODN and makes it seem much harder to get access to the Tree of Life.
However, the Lord never prohibits them from eating the fruit of the Tree of Life, even
after they are expelled. He simply makes it seem a little tougher to get to the Tree.
The fruit of that Tree is eternal life. That is ODN.

When Adam and Eve lived in ODN, they did not need to eat the Fruit of Immortality.
They already had Immortality. Thus there was no special motivation to try to get it.
Furthermore, why would they care about the threat of death if they ate the fruit of
Knowledge? There was no reason to fear death, since they had no idea what the word
meant. Only expulsion from the Garden and the experience of Death made the Fruit
of Immortality seem attractive. Thus eating the fruit of the Tree of Life is
tantamount to returning to the Garden of Eden. The Shem Hamphorah code appears
at the point in the Exodus story when the Hebrews have already fallen into a state of
slavery and poverty on top of living a life that terminates in death. Suddenly a
leader appears to take them out of this predicament. His name is MoSheH. This
name is a backward spelling of Ha-SheM, the Lord who expelled them from the
Garden. This signals the beginning of the Reversal of the Expulsion from the
Garden. It is the beginning of the Return to the Garden. Ironically Egypt was a
veritable Garden of Eden for the ancient world. It was the country where the sun
shone on the pyramid ( ). The Hebrews yearned to create their own state of
Eden. Moses was their leader. Many believe the Exodus story tells of how the
Egyptians expelled the Semitic Hyksos who had taken over Egypt. Typically, the

Jewish “historians” turn the story around and make their own people heroes and the
Egyptians villains. The Egyptians, of course, did the same thing from their point of
view. The expulsion of the Hyksos may actually be the expulsion from the Garden of
Eden.

The Shem Hamphorah text appears at the point where the Hebrews take a significant
step toward freedom in the Exodus myth. The code of the Extended Name takes the
form of a list of Angel names. “Names” (SheMYM) is a pun for “The Heavens”
(SheMaYiM). The Genesis story of Adam naming names for all things right after his
creation confirms the connection we found between the Exodus code and the creation
of man in Genesis. To Return to Eden, man must reawaken the memory of where he
came from, how he was created, and how he came to leave Eden and find himself in
such an unsatisfactory condition. Only then can he correct the problem and trace the
path back to Source.

Unfortunately, the Exodus does not take the Hebrews back to Eden or any other
paradise. It brings them on a long trek through inhospitable desert and into a land of
eternal conflict with local warlords and petty states. After Moses there are no
significant leaders among the Hebrews until the emergence of David, who rises from
childhood as a shepherd boy to become a great warrior, poet, and king. David’s name
means “beloved”. Love is a major key to the Return. David is a great, but flawed
person. His true greatness comes from his ability to take responsibility for his
actions and make amends for his mistakes. Thus, out of his greatest tragic error
comes his son, the great wise king Solomon, who brought an age of peace and
prosperity to Israel. Unfortunately for the Jews, Solomon was unable to transmit his
gifts to posterity, so he became just a dream king. We do not even know for sure
whether David and Solomon were real kings or just myths. But the Bible story of
Solomon’s temple and the Song of Songs are the mythic keys to the Return.

The Keys of Solomon (Claviculae Solomonis)

A Qabbalistic tradition says that King Solomon locked or sealed up 72 fallen angels in
a pot ( ) or vessel of brass ( ). This tradition is another major key to the
mystery of the Return. The brass vessel is the cuplike “molten sea” ( )
that Solomon had Hiram (Hermes/Thoth) make for the Great Temple in Jerusalem (1
Kings 7:23). MUTzQ is a smelting mold. The brass used to make it is a code word
for the sacred Uraeus ( cobra and the magic mantras of the Egyptian Ur Hekau,
the wand we still see today and call the Staff of Hermes. The Uraeus serpent and the

serpent wand of Hermes exoterically have to do with divination and sorcery, the
ancient form of medicine, which is why the medical profession still uses the Staff as
its logo. Esoterically the serpent and staff have to do with Tantric yoga. A brass Ur
Hekau magic wand or staff was apparently found at the Timna Hathor temple site near
Mt. Horeb in the Sinai. That structure was converted to a Canaanite temple by the
Semitic people who took it over after the Egyptians withdrew. They defaced the
images of Hathor on the pillars and reused the stones for their own purposes.

YM, a sea, refers here to the large body of water held by the huge bathing or baptizing
vessel in the Great Temple. It also, however, can represent a day (YM). The Bible
text describes how the vessel was supported by 12 brass bulls. These symbolized the
12 Houses of the Zodiac and the 12 Tribes of Israel. These mythical tribes
symbolize the 12 major modes of survival. We mentioned earlier in this article that
the Shem Hamphorah actually contains 144 names of angels. The fallen angels are
the conjugate matches for the celestial angels of the Shem Hamphorah. The females
(represented by Nut, the Egyptian Sky Goddess) are above in Heaven, and the males
(represented by Seb, the Earth God) are below on earth. These are the archetypes of
the names Adam gives to the creations in his world. The number 72 represents the
64 permutations of a binary code to six digits plus the 8 primary permutations of the
code to three digits. This is the “Book of Changes”. The three digits of the 8
primaries represent the Observer, the Object of Observation, and the Observation
Process permuted in the world of duality. The number 144 is 12x12, and fits nicely
into the system of Decans distributed around among the Zodiac Houses on the Rim of
the Vessel. Each of the 36 Decans has a male angel below and a conjugate female
angel above. The Emerald Tablet tells us right at the beginning of its text that each
Decan opens with an angel above ( or ), and each Decan closes with a
“fallen” or subordinate angel below ( or ). They are also TTH, TDH, or
TUDH) and give thanks for the Decan. The OL’s or AL’s (Elohim) live above the
RQYO firmament (what the Egyptians called the pet ), are governed by RA, the
Sun God, and are the Watchers of Heaven (planets, stars, etc.) The angels below the
RQYO firmament are the minions of Thoth (Tehuti), the recorder of judgments in the
underworld, and are the Defenders of Earth. The Emerald Tablet tells us that the two
(above and below) are mirror images of each other and equals. Genesis also tells us
that Adam, the man of earth, is made in the image of the heavenly Elohim. The
angels are not sealed into the vessel with lock and key as most interpreters of the
legend believe. They are sealed permanently into the Vessel as designs cast into the
molten brass. The Vessel was elaborately decorated with the signs of the Zodiac and
the Decans so that it symbolized the entire cosmos. The name Solomon (SLMH)

derives from SLM, the Hebrew root that means peace and wholeness. is a basket,
and (a plural form of $L) is a ladder. Probably it was a pole with a basket on it
for lifting things. It was also used with the scale (L) to weigh produce in the market.
SL-AM is that which is made (SL) from the people (AM = many gods; OM = many
eyes). L is the balance or scale used in the market place. When the market is
balanced, the country is at peace. The whole mandala of the Vessel is perfectly
balanced with the pole (with its pole star, the Duat) in the middle as a symbol of the
cosmos at peace and in order. The Keys of Solomon lock and unlock the gates
between Earth and Heaven. The word for key in Hebrew is , . This means
that which comes from Ptah, the opener, the Egyptian god who represents the
Opening of the Mouth Initiation Ceremony. A key is the ideal tool for unlocking a
door so we may open it easily.

The Sepher Yetzirah (2) explains how the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet form a
ring cycle. Each letter connects to another letter for a total of 231 permutations of
two-letter roots in which no letter repeats. These are called the 231 Gates.
However, a word such as BB (gate in Hebrew and the name of the Egyptian god,
Baba) is a double letter root. So is TT (deputy and the name of the Egyptian god,
Thoth). These words indicate that we can also include the letters doubled to form
roots. This adds another 22 self-referring letter combinations, for a total of 253
Gates. If we subtract 216 (the number of letters in the Shem Hamphorah) from 253,
we get 37, the actual number of Egyptian Decans, reminding us that there is an extra 5
1/4 day Decan for the 5 sibling gods of the Egyptian nation. This 37th Decan is
dedicated to Isis. All of this information from the Sepher Yetzirah tells us that there
is a web of ley lines over the mouth of the Vessel that generates all the possible
primordial two letter roots of Hebrew. Furthermore, all of this information about
Gates connects the Temple of Solomon to the Song of Songs that is dedicated to
Solomon because the Hebrew word for Song puns on the word for Gate. Hence that
poem is also the “Gate of Gates”. It is also the “Pot of Pots”, the Pot being a word
used to describe the Vessel of Solomon. (For a detailed discussion of this Great Key
to the Old Testament and Qabbalah, read my article on the Song of Songs that will be
available on the website soon.) We can put a Gate with each letter of the Shem
Hamphorah (216), plus a Gate for each Decan (36), with one left over to put in the
center as the 37th Decan dedicated to Isis, the Queen of the 5 and the High Priestess of
the Great Temple.

The God of Awareness.

AR is light, and RA is to see. RO is a friend, and OR is awareness or wakefulness.

These two related pairs of roots are linked by the Qabbalistic principles of substitution
and permutation. We see when there is light. Light is therefore the friend, the
conjugate mate of seeing. Without a “friend” to be aware of, awareness simply
exists alone by itself. All four of these basic roots represent permutations of the
name of Ra, the Egyptian Sun God who provides almost all the light that illuminates
our world. A special name for the sun in Egyptian is Ari Heru (or Maa Heru), the
Eye of Horus. The exoteric meaning of this expression is the sphere of the sun that
lights up our daytime sky. The esoteric meaning is the sphere of consciousness that
lights up our awareness. The permanent illumination and liberation of this sphere
was called by the Egyptians the Aten or Heti, a winged flying disc or sphere.
Another form this takes is the winged sphinx or Khu, sometimes called the Aakhu, or
Great Khu. This is a lion with wings. Sometimes it has a human head to
emphasize that it speaks of a human state of existence. In the Qabbalah tradition
ARY is the lion and represents this same power of illuminated awareness. ARYH is
the constellation Leo.

The Redeemer ( )

In Hebrew two words are commonly used for a redeemer. One is Messiah, “the
anointed one ( ), and the other is Goel ( ). means “to speak” or a
“bush”. Therefore , means “from the bush” and refers to the way that the
Lord apparently spoke to Moses from a bush appointing him to be the redeemer of his
people in that age. Again, the Bible stories are making punning jokes. thus
picks up the sense of anointing with oil as in an initiation. - means to “throw
off” and is a rope. This gives the idea of liberation. is a hedge, and clearly
relates to bush . is a sheik, the leader of a desert tribe. This is a
cognate with and also relates to the meaning of “bow down” associated with
has the conjugate root , which substitutes with , a throne. A
desert tribe would set up a barricade like a hedge with a tent or booth ( . )
housing a special seat in the middle as a throne for the tribal sheik. He governed the
tribe from this nomadic seat rather like a Mongol in his yurt. The “burning bush”
( ) probably is a confusion of for , a tabernacle or booth
set up in the desert. Moses (Ex. 3) saw such a hut set up in the countryside with a
fire burning by it. A MaG or KoHeN or SheYK in the hut initiated him as a leader
of the Semitic tribes. Jethro (“profit”), the father-in-law of Moses, was just such a

KoHeN (priest) for a tribe at Midian. It would make sense for him to act as an
“angel of god” and anoint Moses as a leader on a mission to redeem the Hebrews who
had become enslaved in Egypt. It would make even more sense if these Hebrews
were the tribesmen already there working in the Egyptian mines.

Another word for a “Redeemer” is Goel ( , ). G means 3, so G-AL means

Triune God, or the G-god, a possible additional clue to the missing letter that must be
supplied to redeem the Shem Hamphorah code as a complete alphabet code. This
tells us that the code points the way to the redemption of mankind’s fall from the
paradise of Eden. The Song of Songs takes us back to the PaRDe$ RiMoNYM
( ), the Orchard of Pomegranates. This is esoteric language for
restoring the Paradise of Ra-Amun. Solomon brings Peace. And the father of
Peace is Love. All the rest is details -- albeit interesting details. Paradise is simply
living life from the level of Pure Awareness.
