Bangalore-based Kavveri Telecom Products Limited, a manufacturer of antennas and RF


products for the wireless industry, today announced setting up of a new subsidiary, Kavveri
Telecom Infrastructure Limited (KTIL), for providing in-building telecom infrastructure to
telecom service providers.

The new company will build network infrastructure inside the highrise buildings, on behalf of
the telecom service providers, where the signals are weak. This will help the telecom service
providers widen their service at no extra investment.

The entire investment on building the infrastructure inside the highrise buildings will be done
by Kavveri, Shivakumar Reddy, managing director, Kavveri Telecom said.

The company will invest Rs 100 crore in the next two years to set up in-building telecom
infrastructure in over 200 buildings, he said. Its current projects include NCPA building and
Imperial Tower, the 63 floor building in Mumbai, UB City and Forum Mall in Bangalore.

He said the company will be the µneutral host provider¶ as it will be sett ing up infrastructure
for multiple service providers. It will collect fee from the telecom service providers and pay
rent to the building owners for providing in-building coverage solution (IBS) which offers
plug & play service to operators.

³With our long experience in equipment manufacturing business, we have the capability to
provide high quality cost effective solution for GSM/CDMA telecom service providers for
the build, operate and lease (BOL) model projects. This new concept of plug and play facility
will help GSM/CDMA telecom service providers to significantly reduce their time to market
their their in-building signal enhancement services,´ Reddy said.

KTIL will be involved in the processes of acquiring partnership with builders and developers
in offering technology, project management among other to efficiently manage the entire
project. KTIL will undertake various activities such as acquisition of sites, site survey and
design, equipment souring among others, he said.

The BOL model offers host of advantages to the service providers like no investment on
cabling and plug and play ² ready to use network and single point of contact for installation
and post installation service.

This also provides benefits to the building owners towards good quality cellular coverage in
buildings, satisfied clientele and regular revenue earnings from KTIL.
