BATTERY CHARGING PROCEDURE

Make sure the following are complies prior to the battery charging:

1. Batteries are properly installed as per the drawings.

2. Make sure the electrolyte has filled and the charging can be

4. Verify the battery and charger cables polarity.
5. Verify the ambient temperature and ventilation of the battery room are adequate for the charging.
6. Check the batteries inter cell connection tightness with a torque wrench and apply 30 nm torque
on the terminals.

Charging:

1. Switch ON the charger on boost mode (1.70 V/cell = 96 X 1.70 V) and charge (Switch ON Q5) the
Batteries for 15-20 hours.
2. Record the Battery voltage, Charging Current, Specific gravity of the electrolyte and electrolyte
Temperature. Etc.
3. Do not charge the batteries if the electrolyte temperature exceeded above 40 °C. If the
Temperature approaches
40°C stop the charging and cool down the electrolyte, then proceed the charging.
4. Any Emergency Stop the charging by switching OFF the Q5 Battery MCCB.

NOTE: During the battery installation and commissioning special care for the person’s safety is
necessary.
